To the dense Predator players

Let me explain something to you guys that should be obvious. All the balancing you guys are asking around here, justifiable or not are always broth on with “if its a good team” or similar arguments. Have you, for once considered that the majority of players are not that? Are random people who don’t even use mic or stick together. Have you considered how any changes you demand are going to effect this game in all the level of play and not just for some 10%.

Lvl 55 here. Aside for some 3 predator games I’ve been only fireteam. Do you know how many times I found a team that comunicates? And I mean all of them with mics? NEVER! Again, NEVER!

Let’s take reinforcements. Do you have any idea how many times people split up, even IF I am telling them not to only for us to lose 2 or more people(I AM USING MIC!)?! Do you know what would happen if it was not this easy to reinforce people? I would have left. Predator get’s 5 minute games and back in the que… How long where those ques for predators? For me its less then a minute usually.
What do you think would happen when all these buffs (even more then now) would be applied? Game starts, I check my team and considering 7 out of 10 its not even close to good enough I would leave, rest leave after me. I get 1 minute que, you guys? At least let me have a chance to have a game going even IF I am stuck would this type of players (mostly I am).

Any type of balancing issues that would negatively effect the predator is immediately assaulted by a bunch of predator players attacking and throwing different types of insults to the one making it. How do you think that would end? Good? No… You think the fireteam needs to LTP but also have no issues asking for all types of buffs, even removing the disarming from the suicide bomb! Because you need to win by killing yourself… It would seem only one side is full of people who need to LTP when they bring problems to the table, the others only have justifiable arguments. FACTS! As some guy keept repeating (for example in the topic with leave if its a berserker). Also I am aware I’ve used a less the nice word in the title but it was meant (or at least I hope to) get people attention.

But, but… Just make some friends, get a premade going, problem fixed! Sure, and you guys can go find 4 mates and do private matches, no longer a que problem. Do you do that? Answer me honestly?

Berserker being overpowered. But, but… You can still take it down if this or that… Let me brake it down to you. For a fireteam to take him down they would need mics to communicate, good coordination, good skills, good weapons. Predator needs combistick, jump in and smash a button for God’s sake. Can’t you see why its overpowered? If a tactic is far more easy to pull then its to defend against it, its OVERPOWERED. The regular people playing this game are not going to be able to defend themselves against equal level players or even below that! Right now not many people have it unlocked, just wait until they do…

In the 3 games I’ve played as a predator I can swear I’ve heard the other team speaking, at least one guy. If that is true (no idea) then its completely stupid because that would mean people need external voice chat just to plan… I really hope I am wrong.

But why do we care. Well how bad are your ques now? How do you think those are going to be when randoms start quting who are the MAJORITY by far? I am going to get 5 minutes ques, how about you guys?

Any balance you demand from the devs need to take into account how said change is going to effect the entire play base. Now just pros running premades FFS…

Punishing people quiting. Yeah do that. Then you’re going to have AFK’ers or people sabotaging the team. Now I am sure you’re going to find it cool to get free kills but for how long? This is asuming people would even stay if forced! Look at the reason people live, fix those and not punish people! That is if you want to have people still play this game!

Oh man so much sorrow here. Penalty for the Leavers is necessary part of any command game and will be here if this will not abandoned early.Till it comes use it like a legal tool without any regrets.

This game is having the exact same problem Evolve had. For casual play it only took one side being a bit more competent and the other side is fucked. Balance for casuals who typically do not communicate and in general are not that skilled and when you rise above casual play then predator just gets murdered.
Balance for high level play and the reverse is true. There are sometimes things you can do to keep both sides happy but overall I think one option is dual balance. Casual play for randoms and then queue for people who take it more seriously.
I know it will never happen but it may even prove less work for the devs in the long run.

I wonder where they would like to see the game go? Casual or Pro? I’d love to see both flourish.

Evolves problem wasn’t that they couldn’t balance a 4v1 game but rather they almost refused to balance anything not involved with the “pro” meta. If the tournament players were struggling they got the balance feedback. Wraith was never balanced for pug games as an example. This is what killed Stage 2 imo: two weeks in people were begging for fixed tutorials when the game is on life support but we got a an abused log removed instead. A couple weeks later 2k pulls the plug.

Actually wait, Evolve’s main issue was that it was supposed to be the next big e-sports thing and company culture put its weight behind that. I don’t see illfonic making those kinds of mistakes.

The numbers I played predator has no relevance over my points. I’ve played countless games(firesquad) to assess the capabilities of the predator. If they get any more buffs its going to be a mess for casuals(who are the majority). If you find anything I say there incorrect point it out instead of a vague line as you did.

okay listen, I agree casuals will get wiped, thats why I made a post about adding a ranked mode, and i think that right now the pred and fireteam are balanced enough, but it still has it’s problems

lvl 100 here after 3rd day launch. FT is so much fun but I got to 100 with Pred specifically so I could be better at the hunting aspect. Now that ive switched over to FT I love it. I can hunt a pred since I know how they hunt. I dont even need a full team. Ive 1v1 preds and messed them up sending them into second wind and chasing them down and disarming their bomb. Honestly if you are good, you will dominate on this game reguardless of which side you are on especially since we can parry and limit distance for the predator. Often times I find inexperienced people getting killed early on and blaming the game. Its you, not the game. I know ive complained about balance in the past but its honestly not that big of deal. Zerker might have just a little too much health imho but its really just an opinion. I mostly say he has too much health because ive seen him down 3 of my team (while they barely shot) and then i couldnt down him myself. So really it comes down to teamwork and skill. Those of you without im so sorry a patch wont help you

the sad part is that random were destroying predator last patch and they still can if they are not dumb as fuck .You can’t balance the game around patatoes thats what Dead By Daylight has done for more than 2 years during which praticly every killer were clowns
if fire team loose it’s most of the time because they are dumb

This is just the same whiny nonsense as the other topic. Exaggerating the problem because you suck. You cannot balance a game around potatoes. I made it to 100 using mostly FT because I always picked NP. Now that I’ve unlocked all the attachments for all the weapons, I play predator a lot more, but still play fireteam.

So when people suggest nerfs for the underpowered side, yes, that side is going to have problems. If you are struggling to win against the underpowered side, you need to learn to play. But that goes for both sides. If the pred players just want to jump in the middle and kill everyone, they won’t, unless the FT is also bad at the game.

This biggest power the FT has is that they have 4 people who stick together. If you don’t, you get picked off one by one, as it should be. You don’t need mics to stick together. There’s even a command wheel to yell at the team, which usually works. I think I’ve only had one semi premade one night, and that’s it. I’m always with randos otherwise. We usually win, even without mics. Its harder now, but I can still pull off predator hunting, if they overextend themselves, which is better than always on the hunt for the predator.

Reinforcements. Sure, yeah, bring back your dead teammates. But have you had that happen as predator? Finally kill a team member in a tight group after healing, see two more, take them out, use up your second/last heal, then hear that reinforcements are coming? and all four are back. You’ve been harrying them the entire match, forcing them to use up all their heals and now three of them have all their heals back? And by that point its chopper time, so they have no compunction about how much ammo or gear they use, and you might get lucky and kill one, so you lose three, which you already killed, and you lost the game? That’s the complaint.

You admit and apologize for insulting the other side just to get views, and here you complain that insults are thrown around. As it stands, any balancing issues to negatively impact the predator would cause an imbalance, the opposite of what we’re looking for. While I hope they don’t remove the disarm, you can still flee the area, surviving the blast and winning. I’m not great at the disarm, but I usually can solve it before the final roar, but I have had teammates solve in before the second laugh is finished. It should be tense, it should be a thing that even if you stay to disarm it, there is a chance you won’t do it in time. The only time I was too slow was when it took too long to kill the pred, so I had less time then I need, rather than the puzzle being as hard as the timer.

You don’t need premades or private matches. But there is an unofficial discord server you can join if you are looking for that.

Berserker is not overpowered, he’s just meant for melee, which means he’s the weakest of the preds. You don’t need communication or skills or good weapons. And a little coordination (Ie sticking together). here’s what you do. the guy being hit? smash knife button, or the attack button if you have it out. the other three hold/smash the shoot button while pointing at the predator. there, he’s in second wind and no one is down. Alternatively, you all can just hold/smash the shoot button and one person might get downed, even claimed if he’s greedy, but he will second wind, and since he’s the berserker, you can just chase him down and kill him while he heals. If you can’t even smash/hold buttons, the game will never be balanced for you.

You can hear the other team. They can hear you, if you want. Its part of the game, like you are a special forces squad being stalked by an alien. And then you go suggesting an out of game program to skew balance more in your favour.

The pred queues are bad, and nerfing the predator will make it better, because everyone is getting the game to play the predator, and if he sucks like you want him to be, no one will buy the game.

Yes. the entire playerbase, not just the casual FT like you seem to want.

Quitters, AFKers, and griefers are selfish people, ruining the game for four other people just because they can’t adapt to something not CoD.

This small book of off-putting backhanded comments against Predator players can be summed up as… “STOP TELLING US TO PLAY BETTER!!”

People need to stop posting “level 100 here”. Level 100 means nothing other than you used double xp. It certainly doesn’t mean you have more experience. Your level 100 is equal to my level 50.
