Idk how he’d fix that unless he makes comic Raphael (prolly would have to change his name) come and fight the Comanche and then take the pistol all while greyback is watching. Seriously tho! It ain’t that hard to make a good predator film that respects the lore and ties in or tells a different story. Prey should of been telling a different story not trying to tie it to P2 where it conflicts with the established lore.

To be fair with this director, Dan said he expected more from the Predator bible that was given to him to work with making the Predator universe, as it wasn’t as indepth as he thought it would be, so I can’t fault him for shitty actual lore masters that work under Fox themselves for giving him weak material to work with.

Yea that’s why i gotta cut him some slack bit re god to know he was actually passionate about making a decent predator movie. Even if his gamble to change the face was a bad idea i can appreciate how the movie turned out for the most part.

Funny enough, I’m actually warming up to the new look due to the sheer fact that they even went indepth of adding lore to the subspecies and why they look the way they do. They are a desert type of Predator that evolved in that harsh environment.
Genetic isolation with different environmental pressures yields a variant of yautja… adapted to a drier climate… thinner, waxier dreads, thicker oral tissue, & scalier skin for moisture retention, favors crushing bite for different diet…
All these traits you can find from creatures that drives under a desert environment. While I still kind of wish the eyes weren’t that far apart, least I can see why if you read more down his tweet. At least the design was changed for adding more to lore then just for the sake of changing it.
The Comic not being in the Pred Bible actually means that it is Fox themselves who don’t give a flying fuck about the Expanded Universe. And if something as old, and well liked, as the 1718 story is left out of the Lore Bible then I expect pretty much everything else is probably missing too. Shoddy excuse for a Lore Bible it seems like, shame too because all great works NEED a large & detailed Lore Bible.

Well that helps to reason why he should be excepted lol but its only when he doesn’t have a mask tho cus that design was dookie so ill jus say out of the species my favorite will always be the classic meaning (JH, CH, greyback, wolf, scar, Celtic, and chopper) is my favorite then the supers and dare i say the upgraded…strictly for looks and last would be feral
I actually wonder if Illfonic were given a different Lore Bible because they explicitly mentioned that they researched Concrete Jungle (the game, not the original Comic) & used a lot of that game’s lore to get a basis for the 2025 time period with the Three Way War between Stargazer, OWLF & Yautja and how Yautja Tech is being trafficked & sold on the Black Market, along with specifically using Hunter Borgia’s genetic modification as a basis for Dutch 2025’s storyline.
Because I doubt Concrete Jungle is in the Lore Bible if 1718 is not, but if Concrete Jungle IS in the Lore Bible then that makes the absence of the old Golden Angel storyline super fucking weird because it comes across as very “Pick & Choose” with the Lore.

When you recall how comprehensive and in-depth the Alien Bible is by comparison, you realize that Fox really had little care for Predator until now that the film blew up. Honestly I hope this kicks the ass of whoever is in charge of the Predator Bible and starts doing the same update as they done for the Alien Bible, its about time the Predator series gets the respect it deserves.

Well the tweet is from the guy in charge of designing the Predator (concept art first) alongside Dan so I take it he and Dan figured out how to make it all work out. But yeah I do agree that his design is a bit much, as that fat forehead looks a bit silly. Just not as much as it did before.
Hearing that the Pred Bible is so barren actually really fucking grinds my gears as a creator, not even as just a Pred Fan, as a Creator myself who has had to create roughly 3 seperate Lore Bibles in my lifetime thus far I’m actually really fucking annoyed by the idea that such a major series with decades of worldbuilding probably has what amounts to a school essay worth of writing summing it up.
Something like Predator should genuinely have close to like at least 60 to 70 pages of lore in its Bible. Sounds like it’s closer to 10 or 15 in reality.
It’s a shame that we can’t look at it. We got details and public viewing of the Alien Bible, seeing how the Alien RPG is that, but the Predator Bible is not public to us. I would also say above 100 pages at least, now with the PHG lore adding much more to the series.
I don’t think they got a different Bible, just got inspired by the game to build off on the PHG lore.

Well that depends on when HG entered Production, because from what we know Prey actually started in 2016. I think 2018 is the very earliest HG would have been an idea, so it’s entirely possible that Illfonic got an updated variant of the Bible.
