Ukrainian War News

Depends where you fire it. For example, if the US nuked moscow, or if moscow nuked washington, then the country (and thus its war machine) is headless and much easier to beat. They’ll get back on their feet in time, but even a small country like ukraine could use the opportunity the panic creates to give a world superpower a thorough thrashing.

I dont think it’s that easy. I’m sure military is decentralized and these possibilities are worked out in terms of what to do if that happens. Not sure how it is for Putin, but in USA I’m sure the military would be just fine without president, vice president or whoever is next in line. There are contingencies for this type of thing and action would be taken in a few hours of deliberation of not sooner.

NATO/USA presence is heavy in ukraine. I don’t think they could pull it off with thst supervision.

I think the plan for USA/NATO is to weaken Russia slowly and they are doing it economically, militarily and internally. I think this way it’s less likely that nukes will be used because by that point it won’t solve anything for Russia as they will be cooked on all other fronts and even if Putin goes mad, by that point he’ll likely be out of power.

I think Putin is literally in a box with respect to what he can do. He can accept defeat now or he can keep losing slowly. It’s all about his pride now.

You think putin is losing? From a lot of media I read (not MSM) its Ukraine thats looking foolish . They have been exposed as corrupt , lying assholes . I feel for the civilians, but their country was fucked and in a bad state long before this kicked off.

He has been losing occupied territory recently. Was forced to do an annexation because he’d lose it all otherwise. His only trump card is nukes, which is wearing itself out; otherwise they’re just bombing randomly in hopes of hitting HIMARS units or weapons cache. People are leaving Russia because of mobilization. He has less and less of trained army left that he had to resort to using prisoners. He had to move some of his forces out of Syria because of shortages. I think he’s starting to make some serious enemies at home. He has no counter to HIMARS. Sounds like he’s losing.

If nothing else, i think it was the right move by Ukraine to try and join NATO/EU and end Russia’s influence in the county for all time. Although the country is corrupt, look at the source. It’s Russia. They’ve been messing with politics and buying people off ever since the fall of Soviet Union. It’s the first step to cleaning house.

Mate , day 1 Ukraine used prisoners, there was Ukraine civilians saying now there was prison gangs looting everything 😁. NATO and the EU are more corrupt than Russia. Nobody should root for Russia, but you are fucking insane if you are rooting for NATO , EU and Ukraine.

Some seriously bad shit is going on there , the labs that were “false conspiracies” had to end up being confirmed as true . They had biolabs along russias border. Its not as black and white.

The EU see the wrong person winning an election as undemocratic and threaten a population to not vote for them . I just know that when the proven crooked kid fucking gestapo pipe up for another corrupt place? Well , birds of a feather.

Granted, but i have to pick a side and i pick against Russia. It’s different when you are defending. There is no going back so you use what you have or you’re done. Russia can always retreat and noone will pursue them.

Corrupt, sure, but quality of life is better. Year, there are moral argument here and there, but would you rather live in EU or Russia? Case closed.

What makes the EU so great? Genuinely asking.

Quality of life? Where are you referring to? Ukraine has been a poverty stricken shithole for years , the EU have made all partied countries shitholes and Russia will no doubt be the same . Everywhere is fucked and more places with same problems are entwined with the EU. Unless putin is to blame for the EU as well?

I did read an article about economic disparity in lesser EU states as opposed to major players. Still i think a union orders more stability in times of economic turmoil and things are ‘fine’ during plateau times. You mostly have rule of law and respect for human rights. People are more content and have a belief that they can make it somewhere in life. How many folks from EU immigrate to Russia? How many Russians immigrate to EU?

😆

We have less and less rights by the day , mass immigrations almost zero rights as parents .you are way off on the EU mate

You’re looking at recent event and small scope of things that you are displeased with, but not at the positives. Every country has problems but there’s a vast difference in quality of life between EU and Russia. Go live at outskirts of Russia for half a year and you’ll be back to the county you so love to criticize in no time.

I have a general question regarding the war. I think Putin went in because he though he would straight out win. But, wouldn’t it have been wiser to do a pushback in EU with energy sanctions, forcing NATOs hand that way. Why attack Ukraine when NATO is the problem. Of course you don’t want to go to war with NATO, but he still ended up pulling a plug on energy. I think going straight at energy would have given a better result instead of milking it and letting EU/NATO slowly get used to the reality. Or do you think that would not have achieved anything?

I dont know of the top of my head , I may be wrong, but wasn’t the land in Ukraine supposed to go back to russia years ago? I might be thinking of Germany after WW1 .

I think he was sort of pushed into it or maybe tricked , he warned for years not to push closer to the Russian border and NATO kept advancing and Ukraine were popping up biolabs left and right . Regardless of how anybody feels , a country should protect its border . NATO and the EU as well as countless countries are worried about Ukraines borders now, what about our borders? They flood in immigration while lying about the numbers , yet all of a sudden they care about borders? Its double standards .

As for the EU response, you are fucking correct im not happy 😄 , but see this blind logic people have of “well if it doesn’t personally effect me , then it isn’t a problem” is exactly the problem . I have had shit happen in my life that I didn’t see as such a problem until it was a problem. Thats what is going to bite everybody in the ass because they sat back and waited until it personally impacted them . Thats fucking stupid .

Just because the jab hasn’t killed you or a family member, doesnt mean it hasn’t for other families. Not you specifically but thats an example.

Im not sure about the land going back, but i haven’t heard about it ever. Seems like it would come up though the years. Crimean military bases were leased to Russia but at some point prior to 2014 Ukraine said that they would stop leasing it, so that was a big red flags.

I get the protection of borders, but every country should be an equal, just as Russia wants it so does Ukraine. Going back to the beginning, i think this was preventable and i have no idea why Ukraine and NATO pushed for this seeing what happened to Georgia in 2008. It was the exact same situation. The only difference is that Georgia was run over and had to settle, while Ukraine is fighting and west is not backing down either.

But i still don’t get what west has to gain from this and what Russia has to lose. Russia has nukes and noone will invade it. I just don’t see the endgame in all of this.

Because they have been wanting war with Russia for years , they were warned about moving into russias border for years as well and even broke an agreement to do so .

Even this pipeline sabotage recently, anybody but Russia benefits from it but they are saying it was Russia? 😄 it was the u.s of a by the looks of it.

But why? It’s not like anyone can win here. Sure, they’ll weaken Russia, but that’s about it. Seems pointless, except maybe some economic advantage

They remove the buffer zone that Russia has had all these years and now Nato is on its door step.

And? Americans will be able to stand on the border and spit into Russia?

Do you think the US would want China, or Russia on its borders?

It’s like the Cuban missile crisis. No one wants an enemy so close to home.

Who doesn’t want a buffer zone?

Soviets had a huge buffer zone between the West and Moscow. That’s all gone now. Putin was trying slowly to recreate Soviet Union
