I do feel like usa gives people from all walks of life opportunities for success, but it does se pretty hard to get in your feet once you got rock bottom. A social net would be nice

Yeah I get what your saying its easier to survive if your higher up or in middle, but if your rock bottom its usually almost impossible to get your head above water, yeah more socialized benfits would be nice.
For the homeless i feel like there are social programs available that would have you live in a shelter, set you up with whatever job just so you can get off the ground and be independent and keep working your way up. It is a tough road tho and you have to become a string person mentally and it would be good to have emotional support from someone like a social worker or maybe these people can for groups and support each other. I know little on the topic, but have always been worried about the difficulties for these folks and those that have a criminal record.
There’s vids on youtube of pretty young people that are homeless. Yeah, it’s a lot of hard work, but you got all your life ahead of you. Its weird to see that seemingly nothing is done/tried.

I rememver reading that in one of the scandinavian countries prisoners can pick up college degrees and become productive citizens when they’re out. That’s good prison culture. I think similar things may be available in usa system, but the prison culture portrayed in the movies would tell me that that just wouldn’t work out
I lived in Portland for 2 years so I see it first hand, there needs to be better system in place than what we have now for it, but its also a state specific issue aswell because it cant work universally unless everyone is on the same page but its easier aaid than done.

Movies are definitely different from actual prison my dad was felon, it a depends on the area and state basically, but I dont know too much besides that.
