Tyranny of the majority (big shithole cities) is a meme and so are people that don’t understand the concept of states.
I keep hearing this like the president is some sort of king. Quarantine and regulations here depends on city and state, not sure what trump golfing has to do with florida governers opening beaches and such. They can’t do much besides saying “please dont hang out in groups bigger than 10” the same way they can’t stop people from travelling for the holidays. Its just not going to happen unless you’re willing to go full China and lock people indoors. The US government could never lock down like smaller countries because even if you limit travel between states (which there is no legal basis for) you still have individual states with significantly higher populations and larger land areas than most of the countries that handled COVID well. You guys make the same kind of comments about our healthcare when we have 10x your population and you’re still paying $100 for a video game at launch.

So you’d have ten times the funding too. Not having universal healthcare comes down to listening to people who don’t have you’re best interests in mind. It saves money in the long run because if people aren’t sick they’re more productive and they don’t spread it around as much if they can seek health care.
That has more to do with the level of our dollar and import taxes. I will say paying half again as much for books is bullshit but accept the small increase in price on games as they provide potential far more entertainment.
So you mean the federal government that gives directions to the state governments isn’t responsible for not giving direction?
In Canada the Prime Minister can’t just lock the country down either, (we have even more rights concerning travel than you do, it’s in our charter of rights and freedoms), he however is responsible for insuring that the provincial and territorial governments have the information and resources to deal with things that effect the country, things like pandemics.
PS. America did lock people in their houses during the Spanish flu, quite literally boarded them in.
Trump is literally pocketing the money the Secret Service is forced to spend at his properties just to do their jobs. The tax payers have been footing the bill since he got elected and it’s all gone straight to his bank accounts.
Trump can actually give direction to State and local governments, all he needs to do is sign an executive order declaring a nation emergency, which this certainly is.

If I was an American, regardless of how I feel about Biden, I’d be thankful Trump is out, if only because of the pandemic. If America let this continue for another year, you’re economy would end up going bankrupt. Not because of the lockdowns but simply because the rich will go to safer parts of the world and take their money and business with them. They still might if the population refuses vaccination.
What America did to Russia economically in the 80’s, Russia and China would do right back to America now. China has control of something like 50% of all American debt, they could collect and bankrupt your middle class. I think they’re drooling over the prospect.
The big picture is far scarier than the little picture that is Trumps loss.
I never said they were thrown out, what did in fact happen was they were kept too far away from the counters to properly observe.
Also the earlier comment about the FBI and DOJ was premature, they’ve issued a statement clarifying they aren’t done investigating.
Also…actual fraud was just found in Arizona. Small sample size of 100 ballots, 2 were found altered. While 2% isn’t enough to swing the election it’s still proof fraud took place.
For the purposes of this conversation I’m trying to remain as politically neutral as possible. I honestly don’t much care who wins at this point in all truth, while I’d like to see Trump continue, Biden/Harris won’t be able to do any drastic changes in their term due to legislative gridlock.
They weren’t, they were there to view the process. A judge ruled they had sufficient access. The Republican officials who have certified the results have not brought forward any claims of mass fraud.
And when they are they will find no more fraud than is normal and certainly not enough to change the results. International observers would have said something if there was anything to see.
If the claim is massive voter fraud and a stolen election, then that’s what needs to be proven. I don’t mean to be dismissive but if it doesn’t raise past what is normal in an election then it isn’t proof.
No one is claiming that the election was perfect and without minor issues (that occurs every election), they could claim that it was actually more secure than any election prior.
You really should switch to our system, we use little pencils, paper ballots and go to school gymnasiums to vote like adults. Everyone does it the same way. The entire system can be rechecked at the drop of a hat and you can see who you voted for at anytime after your vote is counted.
That will come down to those runoff’s, Trump is going to lose at least one of those seats by continuing to cry fraud without actual evidence being brought to a court, he might lose both.

I actually agree with you. Present ID, take your paper ballot, do your thing and put it in the pile. It gets counted by a neutral party with representatives from all sides closely observing and checking.
Again speculation and opinion. Besides, legal challenges favor Republicans now in the Supreme Court. Plus even if dems win a seat or two in the senate, Joe Manchin (D) of VA has already promised publicly break party lines on extremist ideas.
