These are animals though. And a trained squad likely wouldn’t be dying that much. They’d also likely be crazy. What’s crazier a tattoo or wearing the helmet of the enemy that your hunting on your shoulder.
We should be able to wear Dutch's Predator mask or any Predator mask as headgear
I’d rather wear the helmet on my head rather than on my arm
Ya but I was referring to Dutch so.
I think he should also wear it on his face
They kill colonies full of innocent people lol. They’re disposable corporate units and people die. It’s a weird thing to downplay.
I get there being the token crazy guy in the squad but a whole team of power rangers running around in predator armor, helmets, tattoos etc is goofy as hell
Actaully I agree but point is Dutch’s helmet is just as crazy as a tattoo.
Also @IllFonic Yautja Hunter now pls
What does that have to do with the colonial soldiers though. To them it’d be a clean up job. Trained ones at least.
What are they supposed to do limit cosmetics?
Not to mention it’d take a bit of crazy to hunt a pred or xeno wouldn’t it?
I want all of that in this game
Hell I’d take it if it was an outfit
People have to die grusomely for there to be a clean up job
They’re Marines trained for this. Would they really care after the first few times? Edventually they’d get desensitized.
As long as we keep this topic relatively on the front page, Illfonic will see this topic
And if enough people show interest in it they might actually implement it
During the corporate meeting they tell Ripley that the alien isn’t like anything they’ve encountered on 300 surveyed worlds. They expected to find nothing but a busted transmitter. “Bug Hunt” never referred to the xenomorphs, they were just used to wiping out native species during terraforming operations. And starship troopers reference because @James-Cameron
Ok. Again. How does that affect the fact that the highly trained and experienced Marines would likely be desensitized.
Because it doesn’t work like that when your battle buddies face is melting in a pool of acid.
They’re colonial marines not Halo spartans lol. Wrong franchise. Actually even spartans gave a shit about their comrades dying and didn’t go tattoo a prophet on their arm.
Look at how well the Marines in aliens did with very little resources and no knowledge of their tactics. Ya the majority of them died but they held out for a long time and took a lot of them out. For what they did have it was pretty impressive. Now imagine A squad designed to take these things out with the nessacary resources. Would they really be dying that much?
Yes they had braindead top of the line largely automated weaponry to make skill as irrelevant as possible to protect the investments that are the colonies. The tech doesn’t matter, aliens win eventually in a battle of attrition. Otherwise set up automatic turrets with god aim and call it a day, except that doesn’t work because xenomorphs. People have to eat, sleep and drink. People make mistakes, technology has limits. Aliens don’t aside from requiring a number of hosts and they only zerg when they have the numbers to do so. Eventually you get ambushed and you die.
Nuke every infested site from orbit its the only way to be sure. And then die from the sunken costs.
Again that’s only an issue if the squad is underprepared we can play the attrition game too as long as we have the control. Now yes it is possible that the aliens take control and trap the team. But that’s not going to be 100% of the time. Especially depending on the size of the infected area’s.
(I’m thinking several in and out mission sin the same area)
Starship troopers is my friend Paul’s work. But it is excellent despite him not being James Cameron. I also enjoyed Robocop a great deal.
