I do not think that we need new Predator classes. The additions should only be cosmetic at this point.

Isn’t that trying to do what Sicario did with their sequel though? The way that reads is basically the same concept, “This movie happens in the same universe BUT is a different possibility of the outcomes from the first”. The reason people got mad at Sicario 2 was because they thought it was a sequel, when it wasn’t.

Lmao, im sure the next movie will likely pick up from Predator 2 instead and retcon a fair emount. However… The movie franchise is for now dead, Aliens is on its last legs too. May have a long wait for Predator to return to the big screen unfortunately.
Sadly I feel the same. Prometheus could have been so much more, but it failed hard. Covenant just said “Fuck it, too late! May as well burn it to the ground!” and totally destroyed the canon. So, when you look at that franchise it turns out we were actually the architects of the horrors experienced by Ripley. That android is the creator of the xenomorphs we’ve loved since the 80s… I mean, Shane Black dropped a tied of epic proportions with The Predator…but those two “Alien” movies, they made Resurrection look like a masterpiece🤣
But the creators/actors didn’t say that.
Add that Illfonic said multiple times this game is canon, and it features not only the voice of Dutch but S.Keyes too from The Predator, and includes Stargazer from The Predator, and even Titan’s new book Predator: Stalking Shadows contains these elements, it just reinforces that it’s all canon.
Now I’m not a fan of The Predator myself, but it is what it is. If they conveniently never bring up hybridization again but keep Stargazer as the enemy, a rogue organization that’s in it just for the money, I’ll be fine with it personally.

Well there’s 7 years between The Predator and P:HG. With no sign of the Predator Killer, no alien tech for the FT and traditional Predators, aka non Ultimate Preds or Half Human Preds.
So they seem to have dialed back some aspects for now, swept them under the rug for everyone to pretend it didnt exist.
Shame this game is canon, because now the fate of the franchise depends on Illfonics success.

And now with the Dutch tapes, it’s looking like a really solid story. I’m waiting for Stalking Grounds novel to deliver, so I can read the ‘prequel story to Hunting Grounds’ which covers the time between the first two movies and the game…
This game could be the inspiration for some movie studio to actually think seriously about investing in another movie. They still have Predators hanging there, which has so much potential for a sequel. Done correctly, they could even tie it back into the game…it just needs a little imagination, but a lot of respect of the existing lore/canon.

It does seem that way, thankfully.
Many were concerned that The Predator might have been a final nail in that coffin. I know there’s been issues, but from what I’ve experienced playing so far, as a fan, I feel much safer in Illfonic’s capable hands. So hopefully this game meets/exceeds Disney’s 20th Century’s expectations.
You should check out the Dark Horse comic series Predator: Hunters I & II too. (They’re currently releasing III) It took a long time, but never has Predator comics been this consistently good!
