Honestly I wouldn’t mind seeing weapons be locked to classes. That’d force some class diversity out the gate.
Maybe only Classes like Support, Dante & Dutch 2025 could use weapons like the LMG & Minigun & Grenade Launcher but couldn’t take more light weight weapons like SMGs or Pistols.
Maybe only Scout, Recon & Isabelle could use the Snipers but they couldn’t carry heavy weapons like the LMG & such.
You can’t exactly force a Class Limit in a game like this, especially with all the DLC FT characters everybody paid to use, so locking weapon types to different classes would be the next best thing and help diversify their fighting styles at the least.

I mean yeah but…that’s not the best solution I don’t think. While there’s limited variety for serious pred play to begin with I’d rather not be shoehorned into a particular build and style because of shitty balancing.

You don’t. You either get in private matches and get better like many here have done or you just quit the lobby.
If you balance around top tier premades so that a not top tier pred can win against them. then top tier pred players would be unkillable and just leave the game. Mid tier players will now lose against any pred other than potatoes…

No disc or bow to any other class other than alpha or scout
Less plasma energy for heavier classes, more plasma energy for weaker classes

90% of FT pub matches I end up with ppl who don’t even have syringes, Scout Duelists with rocket launcher and no pistol (no syringes either) etc.
Gotta love Assault Deadly with a fucking Grenade Launcher and who can forget dear Scout Duelist with a Shotgun.

I’d say scout duelist with a Minigun is more common.
To try to clear things up since we are all over the map with this.
Yes premades and good players are hard to play against. (Obviously) Playing as pred, I have run into more premades that people are making this out to be here.
The entirety of this thread was to open the discussion of why we should have MORE diverse FT teams instead of running into WILLINGLY stacking (duplicate) classes and specs SEVERELY that literally sway the tide of the game in FT favor.
No one is calling out peoples playstyle (unless you yourself do this) and it is an attempt to ask why do we even bother having different classes, if people just pick the same 2-3 top tier choices?
No one is measuring people’s skill or asking how good you are at this game. (If you can 1v1 a pred, shouldn’t things be changed since the game is a 4v1?)
Why are players taking this as such a defensive thread to need to just put on display why things shouldn’t be changed for the betterment of the game?
