why the predator needs to be nerfed

hello there I know this might piss of some of the pred players but this need to be said, it is way to strong.

I have been playing since launch and I have had alot of fun with it as a fireteam, i have even killed and disarmed 8 predetors, but that all changed once people started to unlock the combi-stick, and the berserker does not make it easyer for the fireteam to take it down.

because right now if you have the combi stick you can just run in like an idiot and still get kills, i had a full fireteam and we were all comunicating, and we still got our asses handed to us by a berserker with that fucking weapon, so if any develepors see this here is what i want to happen, and I hope alot of people will agree with me.

1: nerf the combi stick and predator melee in general, it is way to easy to just run into the middle of a full health squad and just take them all out.

2: make sure that the predator takes way more damage from all sources (and yes I do mean from the AI as well)

3: speaking of AI, make sure that once it sees the predator that it will completely forget about the fireteam, like wright some code that makes sure that the AI will not attack the fireteam if it can see the predator, as the fireteam already have enought to worry about as it is, and it would help if the AI was not just on the fireteam.

4: make sure that when you parry the predator it should be stunned for 3 seconts if its with the claw, and for 7 seconts if its with another weapon (like the fuck stick), because as it is right now it is a useless ability that does nothing and is way hard to pull off.

5: if the predator is spotted make sure that it stays like that for longer, like make sure that its spotted for like 30 sec unless it retreats a certan distance, and 1 minute if you are a recon/have the spotter perk.

6: make sure it cant quick execute, it is unfair and not fun for the fireteam to just be focust down and then just instantly killed, and exstend the long executions timer to like 10-20 seconts, so that the fireteam has a chance to save thair buddy and stay at full strength.

I know that this might just come off to me just ranting, but I realy think that if this game is to sruvive then these things need to happen otherwise poeple are just gonna stop playing fireteam or go into lobbys by themseves where the predator will not be allowed to use certan things, and that is not fun at all, and yes the predator should be powerfull, but it should not be able to squad wipe so easely as it can right now.

EDIT: ok after getting some reading on the comments and playing some predator myself I have a few things I want to add and change.

firstly I want to say that I play on PS4 and that may have made it harder to kill the pred compared to those on PC (also took cross play off because PC players have way to many advantages compared to PS4), secontly I want to thank all of those who did not just comment with ā€œgit gud!!ā€ and stuff like that and came up with arguments that would help me understand why I could be wrong, (keep on being you! :D)

now for some of my changes

1: the predator should stay as he is and not have his health down as I feel that it is pretty good as it is (I have mainly played as a pred scout and I have won pretty mutch all of my games).

2: the plasma caster should not be able to take down a support in 1 fully charged hit, he is slower and easyer to hit, everyone else is fair game but the support is suppose to be the tank of the group.

3: instead of my changes to the parry I want to take this opotunity to buff another weapon, the warclub, give it a stat that makes sure that you cant parry against it (because its a huge ass alien with a heavy ass mave hitting at a knife), of course it would hit slow but hard, makeing it easyer to doge out of but you would still need the support of your fireteam members and could not just 1V1 the pred with a knife.

4: the combi stick needs a damage nerf in melee but keeps its sort of AOE effeckt so you can punish fireteams that stands to close, and give it a headshot modifire (if it does not have it already) so the pred will be more likey to throw it for that risk reward thing.

5: take away some of the ammo for the net gun as 15 shots are to mutch and I have been spammed down by a PC pread and just killed instantly because i keept on getting netted and could not do anything to stop him, or make it easyer to escape if you spam idk.

6: as many people pointed out its kinda stupid that the pred can be spotted when he is fully invisible with no movement shimmer, and that should be fixed, and spotting him should only last long untill you cloak and exit line of sight (to be unspotted the fastest, makeing ranged and ambush pred more viable)

as I have said I have been playing alot of scout pred and I have had alot of success with the long jump perk and down range, realy fucks with the fireteam (at least on PS4) and makes sure that I can get my claims, so maybe alot of you have to stop thinking that the pred should be unstobable, as in even the canon a predator gets destroyed by gunfire, weaken up the fireteam with the plasma caster before you go in and then you should be golden, once they figure out that you use the splash damage they will spread out or enter a small room together, use this to take them out and think like a predator, take out the onces that can do the most damage to you ie snipers and sutch

but it is to strong, and I have died to other predators who were playing smart, useing his plasma caster to weaken us before going in for the kill, netting us and make sure that we are mostly alone when they ambush

Iā€™ve taken down pretty much all Predators that rush in when Iā€™m watching them attack a team mate Combi-stick or not. Specially with the extra damage against Predator perk and any kind of decent AR with extended mag as well as the Auto Shotty. All you really need is a team that somewhat sticks together and has somewhat decent aim. Now finding random people that have brains isnā€™t as easy as it sounds, but when you do, youā€™ll clearly see that you can take out the Predator fairly easy if heā€™s just going to rush in and try claim someone with 1 to 2 other teammates paying attention and focus firing it.

yeah i may be biasā€™d but my point still stands, its way to strong and it makes weapons like the minigun totaly useless

as is said in my post we were all blasting away at the predator, and when i had died it showed that he was only down to 25% health, that is way to mutch since we were all blasting away at him with 2 miniguns and 2 shotguns

Play predator without Berserk and the Combi Stick against a competent fireteam. See how many wins you get.

Face it, those are the best combo for pred, just like you with your little miniguns and grenade launchers.

i did try it just now and i dont know why but it somehow seems like i take more damage as the predator, and deal less damage as the fireteam, its so confuseing right now

do you think its because our damage was just not getting picked up?
EDIT: also the grenade launcher is garbage, does not do enought damage to discurage the predator from comeing closer

Most likely youā€™re hits werenā€™t connecting as much as you wanted. Probably branches getting in the way.

And yes, nade launchers are a pretty big problem when the whole fireteam runs them with miniguns. The best build for predator which is Berserk, impenetrable, fearless, and combi stick got shredded by it.

Iā€™ve not played the Berserker class yet but I can confirm as a normal Hunter you can get trashed very quickly by running in and melee killing even with the impenetrable perk. The Berserker class is built for melee though so it makes sense for them to do more damage in qqc. Even up in the trees with the height advantage a half decent Fireteam can wittle at your health if youā€™re not hit and running as a normal Hunter class.

If your team gets wiped by the Predator at qqc then you are sticking too close together or too far apart. Iā€™ve had matches where Iā€™ve played smart took out two team members and ran in to finish the rest and even then I can get wasted if they have the right weapons and Iā€™m not careful. Skill on both ends does play a factor but so do weapons and the mission, as some missions spawn more enemies to help prolong the time it takes for Fireteam to get to the chopper.

The Predator should definitely not take any more damage on 4 man Fireteams in fact I would argue they need a bit more health. They feel quite balanced for 3 man Fireteams where it does mainly come down to skill. 1 v 4 really does have a lot more ifs and buts on the table than skill of the players.

I do think the Predator needs to be scaled depending on how many Fireteam members there are so itā€™s viable to do a 2 v 1 or even 1 v 1 (buff the fireteam member so heā€™s like a last stand Arnold). I also think there needs to be ways the Predator can prolong / sabotage the Fireteam missions or at least get an inclination on what the mission is by listening into the comms or something.

Glad you agree w/ me. Personally I find the game more FireTeam: hunting grounds instead of predator. Predator is way to weak. It was fine during the trial weekend but they have 100% ruined predator.
