Would Night Map Variants Be A Nice Supplement?

Thermal might not be the best for hunting the Pred back, their cold blooded or the equivalent as far as I know.

Rain and map wide fog effects might be possible on the PS5.

Should the pred camo even work at night ? I know they do in the film’s but I always assumed they reflected light to make it appear as if they are invisible.

They bend light around them like a meta material, and yes it should still work in lowlight conditions, better actually because there’s more texture blending at night.

I thought it was something along those lines

At least with a night map you’d be able to see the predators visor light up when they use thermal, as it stands the yellow flash on a day background doesn’t really help anyone other than the predator wanting to look cool to themselves.

YOOOOOO

How about an “Aliens” inspired motion tracker for the FT?

Yes. Night maps and weather effects would be awesome. But who’s to implement such things? :)

So give the Predator all of the Advantages?

Okay… so tell me now… answer me with yes and no okay…

Is the game’s name Predator: Hunting Grounds?

Is this an asymmetrical horror game?

Is it 4v1?

Is the predator a smart being that stalks its pray and adapt?

@richterbryan

If they could make it as atmospheric as the end sequence of the first movie which takes place at night with the fires lit by Dutch then great, but unless they pre-planned for implementing a night time mode, I think it will be pretty difficult for them to put it in now. I’d have no problem with the FT having unlimited night-vision goggles (as long as they’re the image enhance variant and not infra-red thermal type). The Pred’s cloak would still work as those goggles just enhance the low light. Pred’s thermal vision would also not need changing really. It’s not as if the current thermal vision is particularly accurate.

They could have light sources scattered around the map, torches, the giant lamps that are already on the map at the main grounds however the areas off the beaten path would be dark. It’d be insane to think every part of the map will be pure darkness it’d be too one sided.

And to be blunt, not disrespectful, the lighting in this game isn’t a masterpiece of complexity. Even other games with more to them its a semi-simple thing to implement. Not an on/off switch but its not a massive coding endeavor either.

With all our own ideas come better suggestions and problems but thats actual content, like game play changes and possible modes.

Overall I was going along the lines to simple from orange/white light background to blue/white lighting. Again as pointed by fee of yall, probably present its own problems if not bigger ones balance wise.

So its unfortunate that while Ver. A and Ver. B of the same map wouldn’t let themselves be easy injections of variety as I hoped the could be.

P.S.

How hilarious would it be to find a light switch on the map that shuts the sun off 😂😂

I knew it! That one light switch to rule them all.

I would like to see the new map do a sundown- to midnight in realtime that lasts for 15 minutes.

Yeah, I can’t believe they didn’t do a dynamic lighting in this game…

I thought about that but you can only imagine the horrible bugs that would come with that kind of stuff.

Though as game starts then night comes, advantage tips from FT to Pred so it would very cool see dynamics like that.

Generally speaking i dont think its hard at all to add dynamic real time weather cycle and it wouldnt really affect fps

Yeah but look who our dev is and history speaks for itself.
