The balance is a tricky thing. You need to have less then 4 players to be able to fight the pred since, you know, randoms exist and they need to keep hitting the que. The predator is supposed to avoid damage, not tank it. I would also like to point out that whatever they do, buff anything they want but don’t make melee more powerful, there is nothing worse for this game then a melee focused meta. You floor or get floored in the first 2 minutes.
Sometimes it really does feel like the forum is an afterthought. They communicate on other platforms more than they do here. It’s a real shame really.
I get he needs to avoid but you should have options as well other than doing bnb bow or plasma tactics, we got all these other tools but The high risk for a low reward.
I don’t know man, can’t think how to balance every weapon/gear. Its up to the devs.

I’ve said this go @Fire in the patch notes thread too that I don’t think the damage needs a heavy swing either way at this point. I absolutely feel new gear, weapons, and specializations, and clear equal passive for the pred will balance things out better.
Heay weapons slow but hit hard and drain a lot of stamina, light weapons light damage but drain less stamina, then you got the weapons in the middle that are just even
I don’t think they should just do that though. While it would be nice getting new weapons and gear to help with the balance that doesn’t mean they should leave the rest behind like the war club etc to stay weak and unusable. Most of what pred has now is straight garbage and needs a serious buff. I don’t think adding new toys will be the answer though.
Melee weapons don’t need buffs, the issue is with the tracking for most of them.
Tracking would help. But it won’t help with the piss poor damage most of them do and the fact that melee is a death sentence for a predator against a non brain dead team.
I think the passive and specializations can fill the gap.
Give zerk/viking a 10% “blunt weapon” specialization along with a 10% passive melee
Scout/Elder gets a ranged weapons buff and a energy management specializations.
Things like that go compliment play styles with class usage like we do with FT

The damage is fine, you already go down really fast to it as FT. Now if you mean about facing multiple FT and expecting to melee people to death as the rest is shooting at you, that should never happen, you should melt.
Then what’s the point of having perks??? To me they feel like a unnecessary accessory to the game’s balance
Certain perks are great and very good for playstyle customization. Dithered lens, trapper, observant. Those perks are great when you can use them.
Problem is a lot of people need to lean heavily on downrange, fearless and impenetrable just to be effective…they shouldn’t. These should be balanced in and the perks eliminated
I want good inderect effective ways to deal with the ft.
That’s all I feel we can really hope for at this time.
Like I really want cc (crowd control) and good status effects.
Like good damage over time effects,
Good stun effects,
Pulls, pushes, tosses, throws, ect.
Pets or summons, like robots or creatures that actually do stuff and aren’t weak.
Like maybe skills that work off cooldowns or something.
Good traps that arent easy to deal with too.
I want effective gear and tech, but I want stuff that feels really cool.

These are also great ideas. Months ago people were talking about the falconer drone and the pred dogs. Things like that would be amazeballs for changing the feel and style of a match.
Aoe grenades I feel are cheesy and over done but fuck it they fit the need. Emp devices to knock out comms and screw with FT gear…all for this kinds of stuff to change the strategy and make up of the game
No but they should be free standard passives on some classes.
Like all scouts should come with a free downrange built in.
Hunter should come with free impenetrable.
Zerk, free fearless.
Stuff like that.
I agree if you jump down and try to wipe out the entire team with melee you should get wiped. But the problem is it doesn’t even take the whole team. With the amount of hits you have to land with most melee weapons compared to how much damage a gun can do to the predator is definitely not balanced. One person can get a predator low on health if they focus melee on them. Add a second person and they’re getting second winded. Yet you have to hit the ft like 8 times and even then they can get picked back up again in 1.5 seconds.
