Hello there. I come to these forums offering a gift of knowledge for the FT. I’m a Predator main and I honestly don’t play FT often outside of VERY rare occasions where I’m on with friends or mutuals from the Hunting Grounds Discord, or I;m grinding out Daily & Weekly Challenges for that sweet VT. But due to being in the Discord and having a very curious mind for this game, I have acquired a bountiful well of knowledge I wish to impart upon everyone else.
So you may be wondering, why would a Predator main want to help the FT? Well, simply because I have a disdain for a certain subset of my fellow Predator players and if it means they can be taken down a peg, I’ll gladly stab myself in the process to get to them. Bow Hoppers. Yes I’m sure many of you are aware of them and what their playstyle entails and how utterly unfun it makes this game. They play in a way that takes the fun out of the game and ruins the experience for FT and gives the rest of us a very bad name and makes it so the uninformed playerbase think the Predator is a broken mess, when in fact FT has long held the higher stat & gameplay option advantage.
So I am about to detail to all Fireteam Players on here, the highest possible Damage you could possibly have in the current state of the game. And not only is this a build which will put Predators into 2nd Wind in UNDER 2 SECONDS great for DPS, it’s also the fastest possible Class as a FT you could have right now which ensures that even if the Predator can escape away to Heal, you WILL be able to chase them down without effort to end them before they get back up. Even Predators running Medic & Impatient will have a very hard time with this one.
Let’s get down to business.
CLASS: Scout
SPECIALISATION: Duelist
PRIMARY WEAPON: Plasma Rifle Prototype
SECONDARY WEAPON: GrimTech 19 OR 1011-12.
GEAR: Field Syrette OR SR Syrette
PERKS: Yautja’s Bane. Double Time. Fast Hands.
Now let’s breakdown why this build is the utter highest DPS you can possibly have in the game as the FT and why it is such an effective Pred-killer.
You want the Scout for two major reasons. Speed & Pistol Damage. Scouts have the Natural Perks of Damage Resistance whilst sprinting & a Damage Buff when coming out of Sprint. They are also by default the fastest FT Class in the game, built for speed & agility. Perfect for chasing down Preds by default.
You want them to be equipped with the Plasma Rifle Prototype for 1 reason and 1 reason alone. AI killing.3 shots from the PRP even without Flesh Ripper WILL kill even the biggest PMCs in the game and it shreds every other NPC with just 1 or 2 shots. It’s terrible against the Predator however but that is of no consequence whatsoever, as you main method of damage and the way you will be killing the Predator will be ENTIRELY with your secondary weapon.
The pistol. What this build is truly all about, the thing that makes this work at all. You have TWO options here, and which one you go with will ultimately be down to preference. The GrimTech or the 1011. Let’s start talking actual numbers.
The GrimTech has a DPS of 868.40.
The 1011 has a DPS of 962.50.
Predator Health Values for all classes at the moment are.
SCOUT - 1000 HP
ALPHA - 1150 HP
HUNTER, CITY & ELDER - 1250 HP
VALKYRIE - 1300 HP
SAMURAI - 1350 HP
BERSERKER & VIKING - 1500 HP
So you might look at that and think, well with the 1011 being just over 100 DPS higher than the GrimTech, surely it’s an outright winner. BUT, there are advantages to both.
The GrimTech, with Extended Mag holds 30 Bullets. 27 of these bullets WILL put everything from the Scout to Valkyrie into 2nd Wind in UNDER 2 seconds if you have the optimal fire rate. Meanwhile the 1011 can do this in just 21 Bullets. HOWEVER, the 1011 only holds 14 Bullets with Extended Mag meaning you will have a required reload for it, whereas the Grim does not need to reload to kill over half of the current Pred Roster. BUT, the 1011 DOES have higher accuracy and DOUBLE the effective range of the GrimTech meaning it can sustain incredible damage at longer distances. BUT the GrimTech can also use the Silencer modification WITHOUT taking a 10% damage penalty, increasing its own stats and adding a Stealth bonus to the weapon. So ultimately your choice of the two will come down to personal preference and what you feel is better suited for your own situations.
Now, with this knowledge of this build’s damage output you are aware that everything but a Berserker & Viking can be potentially be put into 2nd Wind solo in under 2 seconds. But what about actually finishing the job. This is where the build’s natural speed & speed buff perk of Double Time come into effect. With this set up, you make the FT Scout outright faster than the heaviest of Predators, almost able to keep pace with the mediums and able to catch up to a Pred Scout which has stopped to heal without much isue. They are the ultimate in Seek & Destroy you could possibly have and even with just 1 of these Pistol Scouts on a FT, you have the capacity to end a match as fast as it can begin.
Dangerous stuff. And not something I’m ultimately too happy with sharing as a Pred main, this will ultimately come to give me losses in the field after all. But, I do this because other Predators have resorted to the sweatiest & most mean spirited tactics which ultimately ruin the fun of the game, and this is a fight fire with fire response. Plus once Illfonic catches wind of this they will ultimately swoop in to nerf the hell out of pistols and thus we kill two birds with one stone. Bow Hoppers get a taste of their own medicine, and the FT receives some very necessary nerfs.
