My answer is, “So what?” How many stories have we seen that the protagonist want to prove the world wrong about what they think they can’t do? From either being blind, deaf, disabled, not being good at music, art, fighting, dancing, ect. How is this any different? Its only political due to the political climate of these days but if this was released a decade before, people wouldn’t have such a cramp about it. Its all about that political culture war bullshit, I’m not falling for this shit one bit.

As I said to Deranged, its shit if the woman doesn’t struggle, but if the man doesn’t struggle then something else is to blame. Always gotta be heavier on the actress’ shoulders when its her film, its bullshit. All these mediocre male leads get a pass and the film its just bad, but a single mediocre woman does a bad film then its bad “womanz politcal agenda” film.

We’ve had a rough patch of badly written characters in the past decade and a half. From Alice in the RE movies to Rey in the SW Sequels. Its okay to be doubtful, but some of this shit goes beyond doubt and looks like you WANT it to be bad. The trailer was good. The trailer showed she had shit to learn, that she makes mistakes and can be a bit of a fuck up. She was shown to be scared shittless several goddamn times. Very clearly not Sue behaviour. Sues don’t make mistakes, Sues don’t have to grow or learn.

So its a cold fucking day in Hell when a Porn Artist has to tell you MAYBE some of you have a worse view on women.

My dude, welcome to storytelling 101, where that’s been the way stories have been done since the dawn of time. Big monster kills people, hero goes to stop it, needs to find a way to kill it, find magical sword or whatever thing it is to kill it, kills it, hero wins. Now it just feels like you are scraping for a reason to not have this film at all. Fuck it, no more monster movies from now on, humans are weak and should be dead at anytime any monster shows up cuz they are just stronger. Done, monster horror genre no longer exists anymore, excellent. Now to kill romcoms next…
