Dan Trachtenberg has said they are fur traders and “they do play a significant role in the movie”
I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere, but I’m wondering if the Predator creates even more tension between the two groups due to skinning some members of one side - then the other’s blamed… hence it leading to the fighting…

That’s a good point. The scenes show chaotic fighting in the open. Not your typical stealthy approach, which kinda sucks. But perhaps that makes some sense since there’s no PC and the spear would have to be reclaimed anyway.

What was the original good for? Dutch’s team hunting the guerillas while a space alien hunts them . Which then the pred becomes the hunted . A perfect game of cat and mouse , great suspense.

Predator 2 , city hunter is tracking urban gangs and basically wiping out human tribes . Mike gets his attention and then becomes the hunted and predators is practically one giant hunting planet , solely for hunting .

The hunt is the main attraction of this franchise and the well written characters is the sugar on top . Thats why these movies are fading with each release , the characters are getting less and less interesting and less entertaining to watch .

Its not about the characters now, its about the message they want to use the film to push .

They went from hunting worthy humans for honour ,to “hunting weaker humans to steal and splice with their own DNA because mankind is destroying earth”.

Thats progress?

Agree in part, but i think it’s a very limited scope. Same as Xenomorph. One = suspense. Many = firefight. Then it’s kinda over unless you add more to the villain.

Terminator Dark Fate is great and the best movie of the franchise since Terminator 2, imho.
Too much people hate it, can’t get why, it’s so good.

Aliens was more than aliens, it was the characters.
