Hmm OK, fair point. Perhaps I made it sound like his strength didn’t factor at all, which it did.
On the other hand, this woman has evidently lived her entire life in that specific area, whilst being hungry to hunt. Studying everything. That could make up a lot for whatever she lacks in physical strength.

The Predator might not even be hunting her as it underestimates her just the same as the men in her tribe

So the Predator could be injured while fighting ‘worthy’ prey and finished off by Naru

Yes, it was a bit lacking. I want to say there could have been other options instead of using strength, but i cant think of any at the moment.

Another possibility is interesting. He could have ran away. Yes, cowardly, but the information he had was very valuable. After mudding he wasn’t in direct danger, though the chopper may have been. But i think pred would not just shoot it down either (against code). Dutch was motivated by revenge. He had a plan, but i think the odds would have been better if he tried to run.

True that is a good point.

But I also can’t fault the dude for not trusting the company that has repeatedly failed to make even mediocre standard movies time and time again.

Even me, a guy who’s excited for it, am excited under the pretense that the pred is going to carry the film and the main character story is going to hold as mediocre.

Problem, this trailer looks amazing.

The woman empowerment takes a backseat to the overall atmosphere, pred, and build up for the pred

The only reason why I’m not advocating for that is because trailers can be misleading. It’s the company and creators you should be judging by.

10 Cloverfield Lane was awful and just used the IP to draw people into a garbage bunker escape movie that was tagged as sci fi.

he has no other movies, and a Portal fan film.

Opens with but quickly leaves to the actual atmosphere. Plus none of that spells bad execution. It’s the company that does.

I haven’t seen it, but logically that’s not a critism. You’d need details on execution.

On premise that can be a hook for the viewer while setting up the antagonist that stops the protagonist from opening the door.

Especially in a horror setting.

It’s the journey not the destination.

So the last 10 minutes makes the movie bad?

Here I was thinking game of thrones season one was still good.

Its not a horror movie. Its a “sci-fi” thriller in which a woman runs around in a circles from an old man in a bunker for an hour and a half. Like Split but literally without the gimmick.
The last ten minutes she finally opens the door, hides in a car, and an alien spaceship mouth thing tries to eat her and she throws a molotov at it and drives into the sunset after all that “”“buildup.”""
That isnt suspense its just one bad movie contained inside another.

Have you seen the original Cloverfield? Its a found footage kaiju film. Total bait and switch.
He basically just took a script from a totally different movie and made a hostage drama. Its why that franchise is just a pit of ditched unrelated movie scripts now that have some forced tie in at the end to pretend its a franchise.

Jar jar abrams is known to take a totally random script and frankenstein it for something of his .

Thats why those cloverfield movies are a total mess .

Saying that though, other good movies have been made the same way , but cloverfield took the piss
