the only reason why anyone would hate on any of the prequels are those elitists who hate other people who like good movies. You ask them why they hate it and they couldn’t explain to you why in the grande sense, only that they hate people who like things bigger than the OG.

Any one who has any lick of movie knowledge wouldn’t be watching a thinking mans film.

For example, don’t ask any European man why they dislike anything but the Godfather. Why? Because that movie is like their in with popular european folks.

Fair. I just think it’s difficult to expand on horror past a part 2. Must be the reason they either stop there or if they are made, they almost always suck.

why would they say that? So like, if you don’t have any reason to bash a film, then you wouldn’t know why they do. But generally, people LIKE films. They don’t knitpick the shit out of scifi unless they are some kind of high academic film student . Ask a film student why it didn’t do “this” or “that” and they will specifically say x,y,z.

There is a good reason why a scifi film doesn’t succeed and mainly its a contrived idea or abstraction that is not so easily understood.

Long story short: Saying something sucks doesn’t actually say anything.

Its like asking someone about hate speech against some ethnicity. totally your own opinion. Sure some people suck.

@FossilHunter13 gave some reasons. I’m not taking about everyone, just the older crowd who are fans of Alien and Aliens. Similar is true for Pred movies. I’m sure not everyone hates The Predator, but specifically here, noone liked. Most people here had a bone to pick with Prey, but the general population liked it.

I would put forward that limiting it to the horror genre is needless. You can probably count the number of movies that had competently made movies passed the second on your fingers. Its not just horror that has the issue.

I’ve watched two episodes yesterday and I like it so far. What I’m curious about is about those “predatory species”. There’s five of them but I think we’ve only saw three so far.

  1. Xeno
  2. Squid-eyes
  3. Plant-snake

I think the “bugs” that sucked the life out of those soldiers are Squid-eyes when they grow.

Like facehugger, it needs a victim to develop further.

i think it deserves a second viewing.
Those bugs can’t be linked to T.Oculis (eye squid thing) it just doesn’t seem like it fits its biology. I think they are a separate alien.
Like its the forth one. We’ll call it “bug that sucks the blood and becomes balloon” alien.
Plant-snake is the papaya looking thing.
Xeno is obviously our guy

Well I think, like I said, they go through the phase of evolving like facehuggers do.

When they sucked those soldiers, you can see them having the shape of the Squid, later on we see the T.Oculus inside the dead cat.

My point was, we still haven’t seen all the speciments.
