I seem to remember there scene where Reiss sends the message to the council saying that he captured historia, so it seems like they were working together on this. How does this happen if the council tried to kill historia earlier on?

I dunno that guys mixed up, he lets her mom die, he sends her to die in the survey Corp, then he tries to turn her into a Titan to eat her friend, the guy turns into a Titan to kill his own subjects, ya man I couldn’t tell you
I understand Rod Reiss motivation. He wants to continue the lineage and the plan of the founder Titan king.
I don’t understand why the council tried to kill the royal line earlier on and later is working with/for Reiss to restore it.
Perhaps the council felt like they were losing their grip on the situation with the possibility if rebellion from scout and the danger from the outside. Maybe using historia to erase memories was the only chance they had. I’m still not sure if memories of Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie could be erased tho.

I dunno I think the king would take back control if historia ate Eren but a lil bit of her wouldn’t want them to forget either, it would just go back to the way the king before her and all would wait till they were invaded and died, so so sad 😞
But then the 3 would repent and repel the invaders realizing that Marley was wrong! Then they would teach Paradise Island about their foe and prepare for the next attack but like Japan, Paradise Island would industrialize quickly and already conscript new soldiers and build their own navy, then next time Marley invades it will be a equal fight!

Well, i still don’t know what the effect would be of having founder and attack Titan in one body. One is passive while the other is not.
In truth, Karl Fritz made a “vow renouncing war” with the Founding Titan ensuring that none of his successors would use the Founding Titan to threaten the world again, allowing for Eldia to live in a brief paradise before their enemies would arrive to destroy Eldia as Karl Fritz believed they deserved to be.
Eren Yeager realized he could still bring out the Founding Titan’s power despite his non-royal blood as long as he was in contact with a royal-blooded Titan, though he kept this realization to himself for the sake of Queen Historia Reiss.
So as long as the person he touches is a Titan and royal blood he can use the founders Titan powers
I forgot so much. I do need to start rewatching it, but not looking forward to getting all emotional again.
