Balance in P:HG 2.20

All I’m saying is – balance changes, no matter how many and no matter how deep, will never change the fast pace shooter feeling we all have while playing this game. It was design to be an FPS and balance will not change that.

I will say it again, hunting experience starts when the prey hasn’t got a clue its being hunted. If 4 armed to the teeth guys land on a small map, knowing exactly how, when and what will attack them, then you cannot expect anything else than what we have in game just now – a fast pace shit show.

Need a new mode for that feel and style game.

At this point hunt is what it is. High paced, high DPS, fast shooter. Not what I was expecting or looking for but enjoyable for what it is.

Can easily modify for a slower, more stealthy and drawn out match with what we have now in privates. I think they’re hesitant to split queue times with more modes and modifiers in quick play though.

I wish, ive been clean for a long time 😁

Well, as I’m sure some of you have seen, some of the classes got reset after the last patch, but they keep whatever specialization they already had. So, I’ve only used this once, because it’s technically an exploit…

It was a bug prior to this patch and was “fixed” but as we can see, it’s still there.

They fixed Jungle Hunter with disciplined, but reset all classes with DLC masks, which caused more glitches.

When was the last time they did two hotfixes in a row? I’m fairly certain it won’t be fixed until the June update.

If you read my post, you’ll find that the changes i mentioned would favour Predator as much as FT. Ok maybe a little more for the Predator, but not as much as you’re saying…

I’ve gave it a lot of thought, to much to state every thing here… but the bottom line is - no. P:HG, in the way it was designed and build, will never give us that feeling. It’s impossible for this game.

I will try to be short on this:

Can you think of a scenario/mode in which FT is unaware of Predator actually hunting them? So the hunter can actually stalk and analyze his prey for a long amount of time, completely stealthy, attacking only when he chooses to and not the pace of the game?

When you’re potato hunting.

That’s what I mean though, any time they touch something they break something else. It’s comical at this point

You don’t get it ;-) I know it would, your changes are good, just like any other changes they are slightly pushing the balance from left to right and reverse… not the point - you will still end up with an fast pace FPS shooter, not a hunting game that every one cries for

Not even then ;-)

You’re not going to ever be able to get that “unknown alien hunting you” feel no. Knowledge of the franchise in and of itself and experience at the game from playing it.

You can limit it and give the feel by eliminating some things…know what if I get a chance I’ll put this theory to the test tonight.

It really is. I love the game and hope they keep working on it, but it’s pretty much a trademark of Illfonic at this point.

Maybe not that – but you can totally design a gaming environment within this franchise in which potential prey is not aware of the hunter. That would give the hunter and prey the real sensation of stalking, horror and adrenaline pump. Thrill of the hunt its called…

I happen to play a game almost on daily basis, in which, some times for hours, using dense jungles and night day cycle, I hunt, stalk and kill (quit often in ‘one hit’ kills) prey, but also I’m on high alert quz if I will fuck things up, plan attack incorrectly – I will get mortally wounded or killed on spot. I can also be hunted, and quite often – I am, with lethal consequences.

I should mention this is an exclusive MP game and all characters are human players – hunters and prey. Literally NO ONE complains on balance (just shit tone of bugs). One hit kills are totally a thing and they only compliment to the experience of terror in the dense forests

Even in the first movie, this wasn’t the case. Billy was noticing something was up but had no way of explaining it. They set a trap and actually lift the predator into the air, eventually. Dutch actually catches the predator by surprise once he knew what was up.

It should be expected that the fireteam would know about the predators in the universe that this game set up, with the Dutch ‘25 lore and that it takes place after the “Val Verde” and “LA” encounters.

The whole of first movie vs 4 armed to their teeth guys dropping on a small map, with knowledge of (and quit often intention to chase down and kill) their “hunter” is absolutely two different things and are not even remotely comparable.
All I’m saying is – this game will never give us the feeling we are being hunted or we are really hunting. It was (intentionally or not) literally design in such a way to NOT give us that experience
