I felt the same way, the 4th act was actually kinda lame. The language was terribl (imo) and drops my anticipations even more, if i was 10% anticipation after the shitty design reveal the language being a main part for badlands made ot go down to about 3% with that 3 only being curious to how bad it may be, but im sure theres gonna be those types that will be preoccupied with the flashy bells and whistles and will trash ppl like me who are critical of where the franchise is going especially with 1 person beimg solely responsible for rhe franchise now which isnt a good thing imo.
Hes already giving his reasons for why all his predators look completely different than literally every single predator in any medium which was based of winstons design and different ppl had different takes and subtle additions to make tier predators a kool addition to the rest, but im jus beatin a dead horse at this point.

AvP (2004) and Predator 2 (tied). Out of the 2, I’ve certainly seen AvP more times than P2
AvP 2 and The Predator for me are unwatchable.

i’m like you but i’d swap AVP 2004 with AVP 2 or AVP REquiem. By far, the narrative devices and the creatures far exceed the cosplay shit in AVP 2004. Maybe you got these mixed? You Really thought Celtic and big hulking preds with capes made it a better film with a Queen alien with studio lighting?..PHHSSHHHHH. SHAme. We got Preds and Aliens in sewers in AVP:R!!! We had a fucking weird ass birth in AVP R we had a FREAKING PRED ALIEN HYBRID that looked bad ass in AVPR.
(But i get it, you like your bubble bath action figures)
THe journey in 2004 was trite and I think PROMETHEUS made up for it. since literally the stories were built on the same fabric.
AVPR is a vessel on its own. The tone of the film was no nonsense.
AVP you got a lot of characters that were not so interesting but over the top personally.
AVPR you get LOTS of A VS P plot lines that had no dialogue (which lots of people really wanted).The over all cinematography takes from lots of moody ideas, rainy sequences, refinery architecture, forest, sewers , rooftops, alien hive…AVP had …a temple which by the way really had nothing going for it other than the over use of grey stones then a little later…a hokey old aged wooden mine straight out of Red Dead Redemption 2 and lots of snow…and…snow and hey more snow.
Nah… AvP2 for me is truly unwatchable. The acting/plot is almost as bad as The Predator.
I liked AvP. Is the only Predator movie in which, ironically for most of you that want a Predator protagonist, the Predator is the anti-hero secondary character.
