You have to be able to aim to play seige. You can set up a window in all the pro spots after watching a hundred million videos, that doesn’t matter if you can’t hit a target. You aren’t getting carried by your loadout, these are shooters first and foremost. You can put silver casuals with full handicaps and comms vs master players with pistols and no game audio the silvers will get one tapped because their reaction time and muscle memory isn’t there and will potentially never be there. Very, very large skill gap.
Being able to outshoot people gets you way, way farther in Seige, Valorant, CS than just game knowledge and its completely intentional because its part of designing a legitimate competitive game with skill expression. Someone just peeking corner bodyshotting me because they know I will walk through there is still going to die if ive spent hundreds of hours headshotting people strafing that corner, crouching that corner, bhopping that corner and headshot them first while they’re losing every round because they hit my torso or legs.
Just walking around a corner in any of the above games you have the following options:
turn left or keep going right! whoaaaa 50/50 mixup
Peek the corner
Sprint past the corner
jump past the corner
bait the corner
grenades/abilities depending on the game which is another branch of ebin mindgames
from there it comes down to
account for the gun spray and recoil if you aim a pixel too low.
account for the headbob if you hop the corner
account for the teammates that may appear
when to stop sprinting and turn to fire? or instead sprint to the next cover? Overshoot? Undershoot?
It goes on and on like that mechanically. No youtube video is going to help you with that its going to come down to your reflexes. 99% of players are never getting anywhere near masters. Hell I think diamond is the top ten percentile for most competitive games. DBD is nothing of the sort because there is no mechanical baseline that’s naturally filtering ranks, its meta this meta that. Meta railroad.
Don’t know if you’ve seen people practice for high-end play in competitive shooters but its practicing hitboxes for hours and hours at every single angle, past a certain rank if you can’t headshot on a dime you aren’t progressing any further. Meta won’t save you.
In MOBAs the high rank filter is creep score. Seemingly harmless waves of weak AI are in place to allow the more practiced carry to zone the other person, create a lead, & destroy everything with their immense wealth and solo carry. you have to go practice hitting low hp enemies under every possible circumstance because once you get to diamond if you miss a certain number each wave when the other person is hitting every single one you will snowball yourself into a loss every single match and get mechanically hardstuck at that elo. That’s just a single mechanic in place to keep the normies out.
These games do not have equalizers.
