Sorry mate, but he’s right on pretty much everything. Don’t agree that Godzilla is “racist” in any way, but, I guess the film more or less frames him to be a similar way. But I don’t know why you’re brick-walling his points, they are valid and use examples from the presented media.

I don’t find the points valid in any capacity. I dont agree with them. I know what hes doing, he wants everyone to validate him for the dopamine hit. I see it daily. And I won’t. I won’t concede on a single one. They are opinions and opinions are subjective. He’s welcome to keep his preferences just as the rest of us are to ours. If you note, despite some admittedly playful trolling on my part, I say over and over again that people can like what they like and it’s fine. I’m not required to agree with or validate someone else’s position, especially if I find it INvalid. He acts like GvK is The Predator or Sharknado 7 and I don’t and won’t agree.

I’m quite vocal about my own opinions (see my Harry Potter and The Batman review threads), but I don’t require that anyone necessarily share them. I think healthy debate and differing opinions in almost all things entertainment has the greatest possibility of producing the best outcomes. If there is an echo chamber, you wind up with George Lucas and the SW special editions 1-12, and the prequels or onnthe opposite end, The Predator. The truth is we’re both biased, based on how we perceived each film’s quality. He’s on one end, and you COULD consider me on the other, though since I’m clear that I love both films, I consider myself to be the middle. And it’s fine.

There doesn’t HAVE to be consensus in fandoms. If there were, several fandoms would be cut in half and half of the fans would be tossed out on their behind. Like, if the consensus were that Heisei G were the only valid G series, all other fans would be ostracized, rather than celebrating each aspect of the series in its own right. Like, I don’t think G v Hedorah is a very good film, but I still own it. I don’t want to change it. I’d rather have it, expanding the brand over all. And I know people that love it and it’s all good.

Lol. That’s impressive. Also, John Rambo would be the only normal human that may survive a fight with a kaiju.

But… Chuck Norris.

Ok, ok, the only 2 then… but no more. Not John Matrix, not Dutch, not Tony Stark. Rambo and Chuck. That’s all.

Danny Devito too

Ok, I’ll bite. From what role? Or as himself and how/why?

The Trashman. He’s got Galactic levels of durability and attack potency.

Hahaha!! That’s awesome. But I’m afraid no trash can made can pierce a kaiju’s flesh. Plus he damn near choked to death on one piece of trash…

What about Raphael Spbarge?

Should we really count Chuck Norris tho? Given that the prevailing theory of Kaiju evolution states that all Kaiju were birthed from one of his taco burps in a belching contest with Zeus and Hades…
He’s not exactly a “standard” human…

Idk who that is

So we know they fought on atleast two other occasions right? Ghidorah got iced the other time in the arctic fight with no humans to witness.

But the atlantis painting shows Ghidorah using earth monsters/MUTOs against G and rodan helping Team Earth atleast once.
Wonder what changed? Maybe rodan just picked team NoHumansNoPlanes? Thought godzilla was dead after the oxygen destroyer?

Probably. I REEEEEEAAALLY hope the Apple TV series shows a lot more of that underwater kingdom. If I were G, I’d be pissed that the humans blew it to smithereens!

I fear this will just be a family drama with some destruction in it on a tight budget.

I would be ok with that if Gareth Edwards was directing though.

Really was a whole vibe and I wonder how much WB interfered with the final product.

I’d heard that Edwards had given up on large scale studios and has decided to return to the indie film market. Perhaps Dougherty could be convinced to return. It was his film after all that gave us the underwater kingdom. But you’re probably more right than you know about the family drama bit being the main focus and not a secondary plot. Studios love to do that. Let’s cross our fingers that it’s not that way.

Monsterverse Godzilla is so badass but gets tired very easily, then again it takes a lot of energy for him to move
