You think it will prevent him from running again in the sense that he’ll be shut down by this? I doubt it. And if biden/harris don’t do a decent job in the next 4 years, he might have a shot again
He might run again, but I doubt it. The instant he does the Republican Party will tear itself in half. Trump would need to maintain a 60% or better approval rating within the base over the next 4 years. If it dips down to less than 50% overall, republicans won’t need him to get elected.
The dems are already planning their future media packages, with the ammo republicans are providing during the current impeachment, it’s going to be awful hard to maintain his control, let alone help them get re-elected or take more seats in 2 years. That control is mostly an illusion, it disappears as soon as it’s not propped up by the constant media circus. Fox is simply not reporting rather than give it coverage, they aren’t making arguments for him or even distracting from the conversation, they cancelled Lou Dobbs. Not a good sign for Trump.
The voters in the party already consume totally different media, that’s only going to grow. Some voters will drift back to Fox/AON/breitbart. Others are going to double down on the Qanon nonsense. Those differences will lead to a much more complex narrative each will have to preach to include the other. I don’t see it being maintained without Trumps Twitter and the outrage press from during his presidency.
PS. Totally not ruling out Ivanka running and him propping her up. That would be the much smarter play.

I don’t think he has to be in the news all that much. The election has passed and barring some major successes or screwups by biden administration or social upheavals, most folks will turn off their political radar until the next election rolls around. Just like prior to this election for Biden, Trump can just sit and wait for his moment.
Ivanka has to run for lower office first on my opinion. Shes not going to have that outsider factor that trump had, or the go for the jugular antics that resonate with republican base. The lack of actual political responsibility won’t fly again .

I think the political landscape at that time will be telling. If biden/harris do a decent job, democrats will win again. If not, trump can do his anti-establishment song and dance again. He still believes he did a good job as president so I’m sure he’ll be convincing and lie his way to victory at least in the primaries
It all depends on what he does as a private citizen imo if the impeachment leads to acquittal

If biden/harris make major mistakes in the next 4 years, that will be like an invitation for Trump to come back.
Not only that he has to do charity and start foundations and generally do stuff to help the people

Of the republicans can’t unite now to impeach him when he’s guilty as charged and it’s front page news, what chance will they have 4 years down the line.
He might have to be proactive midway through Biden’s presidency if things are going well. Otherwise he can sit back and watch biden fail and run on that
