Issues with Prey

They’re vision is literally a single spectrum of color.

Yes he was still able to see, but they’re eye sight is still limiting.

Wouldn’t this be true of the general environment as well?

Meaning there’s just a blob of heat. Besides out of all the things the movies shows about physics, the heat system isn’t one of them. See predator one which pulls the same stunt, just in different ways.

It was low enough to hit the brain still which in any situation would be limiting.

Or the fact that a predator would need to constantly consume vast amounts of food to be able to do the things it does with its body mass, or that the force required to leap as high as they do with their weight and size would probably shatter their bones from the muscles exploding.

And then there’s the square cube law of volume to surface area

I wouldn’t go there. It’s not straight fact. After all he is an alien with alien genetics.
But btw it needs to eat every 2 days, according to Pred 2. He feed in the slaughter house every 2 days…

Alien genetics wouldn’t change how muscle density, physics and force work

What are you talking about bro?
Kangaroos have different muscle density and an alien hasn’t?
On Earth a flea can jump 100 times it’s size, and an alien which genetics we don’t even know how it works, for some reason couldn’t?
Get outta here.

It’s not in movies it’s in comics and lore

Can it be luminescence?

It’s not mentioned and I’m sure they didn’t think about it, but perhaps the forests are a controlled environment.

So just ignoring the square cube law are we?

As something size increases, it’s mass increases at a faster rate. So if you made a flea 20 times bigger, it wouldn’t weight 20 times more, it’s weight would be astronomically higher and it wouldn’t be able to perform the jumps it does at its small size.

What if it’s bones are more flexible and joins and muscles anatomy absorb the impact? In the movies Preds don’t make jumps like in PHG, iirc.

JH height is about the height of the tallest human, but he is much bulkier. Still i dint think he should weigh 800-900lbs like people been saying.

In theory, it’s explanation is easier than for fluorescence. But it’s the same principle. The matter has to absorb energy (ultra violet, x-ray, electrons)

Valid point except for the fact that it’s a very important detail that should be mentioned in the movie.
Not to mention that not just humans were there but aliens from another specie/planet were there too.
And nothing in the Predator lore tells us Predators are capable of controlling the environment and the elements.

You are very blockheaded aren’t you?
Just gonna say one more specie and if it’s still not enough for you to understand that we are talking about an alien specie with different genetics that has the ability to evolve and adapt to any environment we’ve seen, then there’s nothing more i can do to help.
Velociraptor.

So it’s not canon.

TBF, Pred thermal vision doesn’t make sense, like, at all. So, like, this one I’m not bothered by at all.

Yeah I would’ve much rather Taabe kicks Feral’s ass and then he goes away to heal and then him and Naru have to work together to defeat Feral, because Taabe was for sure the most badass human character in the movie and i think he should’ve taken down Feral instead of Naru because let’s be honest there is no way in hell a Comanche teen girl would’ve been able to kill a Predator.

The only real reasons she killed him in the first place are:
1 - Plot armour
2 - More plot armour
3 - Even more woman plot armour
4 - She had to hide from Feral with the plant she ate and then shoot him in the back of the head with the flintlock and steal his bio mask which gives him brain damage and also visual impairment for the final fight.
5 - She used his own weaponry to kill him (I mean how tf else would she be able to realistically)

Agreed. I think the moons were done for the awe factor and so the knew right away they were not on earth.

Maybe their blood contains luciferin/luciferase as in dino dinoflagellates. I know it’s B’s, but you do bring up interesting points so I’m poking.

There are more ways to kill Fetal that are less exciting. Go for jugular, cut off the other arm, cut the Achilles tendon a whole sliding under, he could have drowned in the mud. The way it happens was more theatrical and keeps with the idea that she learns and fights non traditionally.

I think the main problem for me was that they built Feral up way too much to the point that they had to get a bit ridiculous wig his death.

In the movie he’s shown to be able take on multiple opponents at once, take on a grizzly and kill it in a single punch, observe his prey albeit not by much. Knowing all this how then can he be bested by an opponent who far smaller and weaker than him, who’s not as good a fighter as her brother whom he killed.

You can say it was from the shot to the back of the head but what did that actually do because not 5min later he’s out there fighting like he has no impairments whatsoever. Either he survives the shot and is becomes as lobotomized as those pred dogs from that POS, or he’s absolutely fine in which case he becomes an idiot who forgets how his own tech works.
