No room for a middle ground there?
Issues with Prey
I do have a problem with how the mask was in exact needed place and all the sheet Naru was able to pull off. But the tactical plan works i think. As I’ve said before, Feral was partially immobilized, Naru was a threat, the bowgun seemed like the only immediate offensive option.
Either you have brain damage or you don’t, can’t say he does if he’s fighting just as competently as he was before the shot. Tbh that point blank shot to the back of his head should’ve killed him right then and there.
Still though, the shit would never have worked even if she didn’t set it up as a trap since the second he whips it out the mask turns on. The mask could have been left behind back at the campfire and the shot would’ve gone all the way over there. He’d have a better time throwing the arrow at her.
There is focal brain damage and diffuse. Symptoms depend on which structures are damages.
The distance may have mattered. If she was closer the arrow would likely get her before tracking was activated.
Good observation. However, i think it’s unlikely that case. Because luciferin or luciferase is a protein in blood cells. Once the blood is out of the vascular system, the blood cells die. As we saw in Pred 87, the blood on Anna’s pants was still glowing after some time.
But, like i said, it’s an alien and who knows how their body functions. So, that’s a valid point there.
Well as shown by the film, the damage was very negligible.
If she was closer yeah, but the film shows otherwise. He of all people should know how his tech works, that if he lost his mask then the launcher is compromised and won’t work as effectively.
Brain injuries can have many different effects based on the part of the brain that is injured. Not to mention, these are aliens with there own anatomy.
I think it was a safe try. The mask could have been damaged and at the very least not aimed at him so no harm. It worked out differently, but i think odds were in his favor for not getting killed.
True but the film shows he’s fighting just as competently as he was before the shot which means the shot was not that fatal to him nor did it impair him. I still think the shot should have killed him as it was to the most unprotected part of his skull and as that dogshit of an excuse of a film The Predator shows, that even a superior genetically modified super pred can die to a 9mm if shot to the head.
Wouldnt even intracellular proteins function outside the cell if the is stimulus and they’re not denatured? Perhaps other conditions might not work and when cells die it is possible that proteins might get denatured, but it would possibly need to be apoptosis instead of hemolysis.
You’re free to interpret it that way. I don’t think it’s much of an issue.
I’m much more bothered by her ripping a mandible off with her bare hands. That’s just a goof I’ll have to ignore, because it was a bad idea with no way to justify why she could do that.
PS: any argument involving “The Predator” will always be ignored by me. Sorry.
Who knows. I just made a simple and presumptuous comparison with the lampyridae species…
I understand - because most of fans, for some unexplained to me reason, thinks that Yautja are honourable warriors that respect fair fight. Seriously, even the Thomas brothers confirmed that this was never the case and was added on much later in comic books.
Feral is acting exactly like Jungle and City hunters acted – he uses all his advantages to win every time. He will not shy from cheating, just like JH or CH.
There never was no “honour code”. It was a lose thought expression, thrown in a random interview by one of the crew members on Predator 2. It was never a thing in the lore. I made a topic about this on forums and no one was able to convince me otherwise. And no one will. JH, CH and Feral committed to many “dishonorable” things to convince me that Yautja are actually following some sort of honour code.
Now, I do realise, that after 30 years of repeating lie it becomes “truth” and most of you will viciously attack me right now – but the proof is in the pudding.
You’ve just binned all of your previous reality checks XDDDDDDD
Cause i would think there are med diagnostics test that would do just that, detect proteins in lysed cells, so I’d assume those proteins are still able to undergo reactions. But, they could be in specific media for that.
Possibly blood detection in forensics as well. I forget how it works exactly.
My biggest issue with the movie that made no sense at all is how the heck did they have cameras to record all of this in the 1700’s???
And why didn’t the Predator simply kill the camera man when he had so many chances and could avoid getting recorded? Aren’t the Predator’s suppose to be stealthy and not want to be seen? Jesus christ…
🤣
