Oh and here we go, im been censored in another topic.
I am also in the camp with the train of though that skins and cosmetics are not content.
Audio files to listen to, even in Arnold’s epic voice, is not content.
New unique game modes, new unique maps, new unique classes, new unique equipment, etc. are content.
As I have said before, either companies have gotten sloppy with their definition of the word “content” or we the gamers have lowered our expectations over the years. Maybe both.
Well said that man, I was 8 yrs old when this film came out and illfonic managed to get the rights to the franchise which means suckers like me paid £50 For a name not a game. I played the game fir probably 10hrs say in que for 2x that…
If this was a tool or an item I would be marching it back to the shop/store and demanding my money back as it broken !!! … in the matter of fact I’m going to ask Sony now and try my luck as this game is unfinished and not even close to being worth £50. I DL Mad max for £15 and had hours of more fun compared to this unfinished project. Only thing good about this game is the sound effects of the predator. But I’m guessing illfonic was handed these from previous designers. Ha … #wantmymoneyback

No new maps or worthy content, as they promised, they also promised “FREE” content to make up for the lack of launch content… and last months bullshit isnt free content… Audio logs, and the previous months paid content… isnt free content to buff up a half-assed game launch.

it’s really disappointing that they’re not even saying their working on the PC port to improve it… I’m just saying, it’s pretty atrocious the state that it’s in rn…
I’m just tired of hearing the age old “but they’re a small studio” “it’s an epidemic” we get it… doesn’t give them to just not say anything and only respond to naive overplay positive individuals lol. Not to mention be half A**ed with their PC port. If they have a seperate section of the team working on it as some people are claiming, where the hell is communication bout it?

Yeah exactly… The gaming community has been letting devs get away with shit for way too long…

Game definitely has issues, but I’ve spent a lot of time playing and enjoying it. I pre-ordered the standard edition, so I’m happy with what I paid for. Obviously I’m hoping they fix the bugs and add more maps/content.
I think you really need to be a Predator fan to get past some of the game’s issues though, as i can appreciate that to more casual fans the game is not of a standard comparable to many other contemporary games.
Thats kinda my point though, and the point of this post… If this was “kitties, and not predators” it would of died day 2 … They’re relying on the fans of the franchise…
but whats really sad is they had a PRIME opportunity to make something of this… but they sold it like some shop lifter flogging some vodka he stole.

Yeah, I’d love for this to have been made by a big studio who could plow loads of resources and talent into it, but Pred isn’t a mainstream IP like Star Wars or Marvel. This is a niche product for a niche fan group.
Though a big studio with loads of money is no guarantee of quality anyway - just look at what happened with the films!
TBH… what this game needed was a developer that was actually passionate about the game they’re making lol… not just making a game for the sake of making one

You must not have played Friday the 13th or went on the forums for it. Communication is not a strong attribute with IllFonic. Communication for the F13 game actually got a little better after IllFonic stepped away from it.
I think I’m close to 200 hours played. Yet I fully agree with most that has been said.
I literally love asymmetrical games so much I don’t ask for 100% quality. But this game… man I paid for over 400 games in my lifetime, worked in the game-journalism industry and Predator: Hunting Grounds is in my top 3 most bullshit release states I’ve experienced. There are bugs in this game and gameplay-mechanics in this game that shouldn’t even left the Alpha-phase…
But here we are.
I love this game for it’s setting and asymmetrical gameplay, but it’s broken as fuck. And I cannot in all honesty recommend this game to friends anymore.
Friendlist? Broken as hell.
Crossplay? Incomplete, and hitscan weapons are a no-go for crossplay shooters. It makes PC-players OP as fuck.
Bug-galore, Goat-simulator was designed as a buggy joke, this game was not (let’s hope not).
Content? For 40 euro’s entree price I didn’t expect there would only be 3 maps for this long. I didn’t expect the main gameplay mechanic to be opening lootboxes. And search for resources to open lootboxes.
At release I would have rated this game a 6/10. Maybe a 5/10 if my old collegues would have pushed me a little to be less of a fanboy.
Realistically? For a non-EarlyAccess title? This game is close to a 4/10. I’m still enjoying it, but I won’t recommend it to others anymore. I can only describe this title as “wishful thinking”, because it’s losing it’s reputation faster than Evolve back in the day. At least people would say “but this game is actually good, why is it losing its players this fast”, you can’t say this about Predator: Hunting Grounds.

Oh I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone other than hardcore Pred fans, and even then I’d mention the glitches and issues.
I totally understand why people are annoyed. I get reminded of the game’s frustrating nature every time I go to eat a pig near a tree.

The trees in general are just off, you’re either trying to eat a boar/ claim a skull then bam you’re up a tree or when you’re trying to leap away and you touch a branch then bam you’re right back to where you jumped from or you’re plummeting somewhere else. Your weapons are for some reason attracted to the trees (plasma caster & bow) or if you’re FT your bullets are absorbed by the wonky hit boxes on the branches. When leaping from tree to tree you’ll either fall through at times or just fall short of a jump and miss the branch altogether and climbing them will sometimes give some of the jankiest animations ever to the point it looks like you’ll be stuck in place.
