New player. Needing tips for the game
God it’s been so long I think I’ve forgotten how to play. The good folks here have got the bases covered it seems though, I’ll just add a few bits here and there.
Deadly assault is the easiest combo to use. I personally prefer the Hammerhead and red dot for maximum accuracy and time on target damage. There are higher DPS weapons but the Hammerhead is the most accurate rifle
Unleashed is pretty nasty if you’re good with grenades, you can “cook” hand grenades to basically make them impact grenades with some practice. Hold the button while throwing, practice in privates to get a sense for the timing. It can give preds nightmares if you’ve got decent aim with them.
Don’t camp, experienced preds will just burn you down. Plasma and slam go through walls and ceilings so if your plan is to hide in a corner you’re gonna have a bad time.
To add on with the sights thing, always use x6 scopes with sniper rifles. They do good at close range too, so you’ll want a balance with those
While I agree that’s a personal preference thing. I’ve seen guys stick with the 10x and never miss, I’ve seen guys red dot the SAWZ and snipe masks all day long.
Well im on ps4 and just find it easier, everyone has their thing
Sf 3rd strike or destiny 2.
Pong, be there or be square.
Damn mention a game that requires skill and you get real silent.
I dont have either of those lol
Dont plan on getting them either, because i gonna stick with da games dat i have
Shocking.
I can shareplay 3rd strike and destiny is free. You’ve no excuse
I have excuse
Soon enough this game will be free
Plus Destiny looked kinda boring
You’re scared lol.
I’m not scared, im merely stating that 1, i do not want to download more games that i will never play and 2, if you want to 1v1 your gonna have to wait a while for me to git gud so it will be a fair fight
Been checking out some YouTube channels and streams. A lot of help! Thanks again! About the cooked grenades. I was about to ask about that as I noticed in vids that people where holding their grenades for some time. Also the parry with R3 do I have to wait till it say parry.
Sorry if this sounds dumb. I just really like the game so far and want to learn what I can.
What level are you currently
Welcome. Voodoo Lady is cool, her advice is solid. Also, since you’re new to the forums and seem pretty smart, here’s some advice for this place: READ. Read a lot. Dig through old threads, learn all the tips and tricks you can, dig through the current and old videos thread and just study, study, study. Stay away from channels like BloodThirstyLord, instead check out people like Samhain13, Anonymous.Voorhees13, etc.
Some tips I can give off the bat, a lot of them others have said but just to hammer them in:
-
Do not use open comms unless necessary. Preds can hear you, and your character creates a sound bubble that can be seen from a distance, so not only do you stand out, you can also be heard from a distance. Playing as Pred is the same, except no sound bubble, but you can still be heard and its easier to find you that way.
-
Mud up constantly. Unless you’re facing a Pred with Tracker, then there’s no point because it can see through mud. But otherwise, do it. Some classes have damage resistance with mud, and being mudded is good strategy for certain things, like completing objectives and reinforcing without being able to be tracked.
-
Don’t use potato weapons. The meta weapons are the Hammerhead assault rifle, 1101-12 and Grimtech19 handguns, and the SAWZ-50 sniper rifle. 99% of every player you see here will be running with a mix of those. Also don’t use potato specs, learn which spec is the best for your class, on both sides, i.e. Analytic with City Hunter, Stalker with Elder or Cleo, Duelist with Scout, Deadly or Fanatic with Assault, etc. Unfortunately, this game has de-evolved into who can cause the most damage the fastest, so that’s how you should think and play. Also, choose the perks most appropriate for your class. Most top Preds run Large Pouch/Medic/Down Range with combistick and bow. FT is more varied, it depends on class, specs and what you want, but most apply a mix of Thick Skin, Heavy Hitter, Action Hero, Yautja Bane, Gearhead and OWLF Trained.

For the love of God, please stay near your team as best you can. Nothing is more infuriating when you’re engaging a Pred but your team has ran off in the other direction. Playing randoms, you’ll run into these dumpy people all the time, but do your best to stay close to as many of them as you can for backup.
-
Play both Pred and FT. I know it sound kind of daunting, especially since FT is far more overpowered than Pred in terms of damage output, but you can learn a lot from switching back and forth. As FT you learn what certain mission locations are, where medkits and ammo crates spawn, and in turn as Pred you’ll have that info to be able to locate and destroy those things to cripple the FT, and you’ll know where they are headed for the next objective. Its also pretty fun to wreck as Pred when you get the hang of it lol.
-
LISTEN. As FT, you need to have good situational awareness to know where the Pred is at. Play this game with headphones, the best ones you have. Sound is very important, and immersing yourself is the best way to track the Pred and FT. As Pred you can hear their gunshots from far away, you can hear their footsteps, and any audibles they may utter.

Just be smart. Like people have said, watch videos and see what they do and how they play, and try to emulate that. And don’t get discouraged with you lose, because it happens, and it’ll happen a lot in a broken game like this. But the more you play and practice, the better you’ll become, and you’re start to lose less often. Welcome to the war.
That’s quite the essay my dude
Oh yeah and @Dannyboi indeed stay away from BloodThirstyLord, hes a potato who uses overpowered stuffs and has literally zero skill
