Yeah but only from the distance… like if the pred is like further than 50m then it will do that…
If he does go close this passive ability stops working i guess? sounds balanced to me really
I’d actually drop this to 15m-25m, If only because this will be most valuable in escape scenarios.

Always got a kick out of the Pred ripping Dalton’s skin off the skull with its mandibles, all while keeping his glasses on.
The first arc was actually fun, and super gory for an Archie comic. Then that ending hit…never had a bigger wtf moment in my life. It was just a love-sick teenage Yauja…? And they morphed it into a new Archie using a random gene splicer? O…k.
I couldn’t finish the second arc.

I’d said leave it as is. Pred gets close, FT does so much damage that cloak will overload (preventing close plasma spam). Pred engages melee, cloak turns off anyway. No need to nerf it at close range. No need to be cloaked at close range either. Even the ghost spec works for the first hit only.
I’d also say it could be valuable when getting close to FT so you don’t get melted on your way in or out, only while you are actively engaging
Could be made as a very high cost perk, since impenetrable is almost useless

It would probably be good from a game play perspective, but I don’t think it would make much sense from a lore or “alien physics” perspective.
Even if they dont nerf the plasma caster and bow, it wouldnt really matter much tho, cause even if the preds spam those… the fireteam can adapt
Two factors I long gave up on, but if we’re being picky we have seen it be incredibly hard in all other media to hit a moving cloaked pred. The above clip of Jerry in Pred 2 mag dumping into city hunter.
The infamous “mow down the jungle” scene in the original barely wounded Jungle Hunter.
The same with Royce unloading at relatively close range on the Super Preds…
For a game mechanic purpose it acts as a shield but lore wise it’s just their plot armor
I mean yeah, i dont wanna go in the details about how the guns act in the game against pred but i wanna personally talk about how cloak is still trash and sound design tends to break.
Again i personally wouldnt mind the slight nerf on the ranged weapons for pred, why im againts it is, it will give the devs confirmation people are up for nerfs on the ranged weapons and then they will keep nerfing them even if people dont like more nerfs.
And we seen them do that countless times lmao… and on top of that we wait another week or month for it to be reverted… and they either forget or there is a new meta that they end up nerfing thats not that serious
It would just be a balance issue at that point. Totally get what you’re saying but at the same time I can just picture an impervious elder stalker dumping 1 shot plasma down on a FT that can’t counter as effectively now because of impervious cloak
ye then at that point its either they decide to give a shot 50 50 chances of like no nerf at all and letting people adjust to the new gameplay mechanic, or they slight nerf and then go from there… personally i would be up for them nerfing like splash damage and radius in the case they enhance the cloak passive ability and also fix the textures of it to allow better invisibility for pred… than just leaving it as it is XD
Also i am lead to believe if they only spent time trying to fix how predator cloak and sounds overall work, the game would still be somewhat alive ngl… but then the other part is how boring the game becomes, at least it did for me cause the gore was minimal.
I get what you’re saying, but I think it’s simply missing direct hits or the body armor blocking the shots, or in the case of the “mowing down the jungle” the predator was simply long gone.
Another way of doing the armor thing could be a totally separate bar for armor and health.
The armor would be non replenishable and would reduce all damage taken to health by 25%. Scout would have the least amount of armor points, like 2000 🤷♂️, and berserker would have the most, like 5000. This might seem like a lot of armor, but because it can’t be replenished, it would still result in the same squishy predators we have currently by the end of a good match.
They could even add damage textures for the armor, similar to how the mask gets damaged.
