Plasma spammers??

net 1 then attack the un netted one, less incoming DPS

preblem of casuals cant affect balance of a game. you CAN NOT balance a game as the level of potatoes… what happens when they get better and then start clapping preds like the pros? rebalance the game again until the next wave of nubs?

Just balance for the top levels or there abouts and let the nubs GIT GUD or FUCK OFF… most of them are like 5 anyway… asif their brain is even capable of tactical decisions…

balance a game for people who are pre teen and play it for 5 mins before going back to fortnight… or balance for the people who play it daily, know how to play and are decent at it?

In a perfect scenario yes, but remember you still have to deal with a wave of AI guerrillas.

Great pc FT squads lose because they are dealing with tons of AI while the pred is also pressuring them.

We played yesterday against a very good pred, and we almost lost because we killed a total of 87 AI while completing the mission and fighting him.

If you remove all AI and only focus on fighting the pred, he will have near zero chances of winning no matter how good he is.

Every match is different. I have literally destroyed great preds, but in other matches I hardly do any damage to them and I end up dead. Also, mistakes are made often that will cost you the match on both sides.

So, my take on all this is just play the game, have fun, and adapt to the new changes, because you’re still gonna lose some matches no matter how good you are.

yep, play and adapt and get better as you play. and cant account for all situations. I agree with all that

Try playing a solid 4 man and not maiming plasma. Get back to me after and tell me how that went

yup, and even if thats all that pred does is just use plasma over and over and never uses anything else. the FT have to just deal with that and learn to play against that kind of tactic.

I use a lot of plasma the better the squad is, because its very usful tool and just about the only thing pred can use for corner play. (bow maybe?!)

The bow is awesome but it’s better for once you have the team in a pinch. Like having someone down. Using it while everyone is on the run is almost a waste of time. You can send plasma bolts down range over and over and over and eat up all there heals very quickly. With the bow you might hit 1/3 shots every time and sure that’s nice but you end up doing about the same or less damage then if you’d have just been tossing plasma at them nonstop.

At the edge, about 10.5m, it’s 15. A near miss is 100, so even if you miss by 5m, you’ll still do about 43 damage. I’m talking about a full charge.

Quick shot splash damage starts at 34 and ends at 15, with a 4.5m radius.

Depends on how you see “balance”. Devs have logs and could very well see “balance” as 50% win rates. When FT wins more, they need to do something to take it down. In this type of balancing everybody is taken into account. This is also an asymmetrical type game so one side (FT) needs to account for having randomness in a team and you ending up with potatoes that will effect the quality of the match(good players matched with potatoes, nothing the good player can do even if he is good), predators don’t have this issue. Yes, balance is a continuous struggle this way but if one side loses to much, those people will stop hitting that que, nobody likes to lose. If less FT que, the bigger the que for the pred is. Considering the population of this game, its not a good idea to not look at the “bads” because that translates into far to longer ques for the other side, the majority are bad players and more son on PS since the PC community is small. Ignoring the majority is always… BAD…

That said PS players need better aim assist since PC players have a clear mechanical advance. PC fireteams or PC predators have a clear advantage.

Skill based matchmaking would also be excellent but considering the population it would probably kill the predator que, so the devs are (probably) left with balancing around win rates to ensure both sides have fun, in the end this is not a professional, competitive game, its casual fun.

The stats cant be used to balance the game either i know that sounds odd, but as we have already established. 90% of the playerbase have not learned to play the game yet, or are 5 years old etc… so even though they are included in the stats they should never count towards balance!

Its like looking at all football together (or any sport) and including wins/losses in professional leagues along with 5 year olds kicking a ball on a field and baalancing around that. it would be dumb so dont do it here either.

If they are no good then they can learn and get better. you cant get better against something thats just stacked the wrong way… cant do more damage than allowed, cant have more health by getting better.

That depends on who you ask, for me and other its a serious match and we want to play to a high level and try to win. to others its a bit of fun and they dont really care either way.

Again trying to balance to that end is pointless as it ruins it for those that do care not those that dont care and just have a quick game for fun.

yeh they cant really because of playerbase division. but they could do skill/rank based Buffs/Nerfs that dont change the player pool or matchmaking at all. ive done long posts about that before have a search if you want to see more how that works. but it wont be implemented anyway for many reasons like time to develop it.

But it doesnt matter what anyone says im sticking to my guns. Balance should be around the top tiers of those that play it a lot, know how to play, are good at it, care about the matches etc etc - Not based on stats that include 90% potatoes and 5 year olds on daddys game. -

I disagree as stated above, ignoring the majority of potatoes is good for the game and encourages improvment and forming of squads etc if they actually care enough to want to get beter and play at a decent level then having the game allow that, and seeing your progress and appreciating the effort put in to improve and start to see results as you put more hours in - Thats perfect! thats rewarding, thats a game!

Catering for the majority of idiots who dont care and probably wont even be playing the game next week… what does that do to those that play it regular or as their primary game? - ruins it!

and some may say “yes but if they keep losing it may turn them away from the game” - people that give up because they lose a game on day 1 are EXACTLY why you dont want to balance for that! - they should LOSE all day untill they LEARN how to play the game…

Entitled little brats who cant handle a loss because every game hands you dopamine-hits every 30 seconds is exactly everything wrong with nearly every game nowdays… everyone has to be super great and dick-stroked at every oportunity and made to feel like teh MVP VIP player…

Bullshit!

Dude, if 90% of players don’t have fun playing the game (your own admission about the numbers) then they will stop playing, the que for preds its already 8 mins and counting. I am sure the devs need to take into account many things, not just pro premades. If you think it promotes them to improve and to form premades, I don’t know what to say man…

Also and this is important, no matter how much I improve, having 3 potatoes in my team is going to kill it. What do you think that leads to? Good players will also quit because there is no point in playing unless you premade.

Ummmmmm No mask = inaccurate caster shots.

So basically no caster

so team up and get gud with a gud squad - encourage that.

Again those people that stop playing because they cant win wil stop playing anyway because of potatoeness, it doesnt matter , they will blame everyone else in the squad - zombie over to the objectives with a knife out and never even engage the predator… ofcourse they wlill leave!

they will leave regardless of anything! - and you want to cater to that? how do you even balance a game to a player that has no intention of even engaging the predator? youd have to give them infinite life to satisfy them so they never die, and give them auto aim, infinite ammo…

And what would that do to the games with player that know how to play?! - RUINED absolutley fuck them up!

and they would STILL leave after a week because they are kids and they play a new game every week and never touch the old one again!

Cater to your loyal players, the ones who return and play regularly, the ones who buy DLC, the ones who take the time to learn the mechanics.

DO NOT EVER CATER TO POTATER! - my new slogan

NO CATER DU POTATER!

I will put it simple, If I could not que randomly and win, I would stop playing. Usually I have very little play time, I que 3-4 games when I get home and that’s it. If I can’t do that, I don’t play.

Since the patch I played like 30+ games and won every single one with randoms ASIDE from when I faced Proxy, he toyed with us. Good predators have insane win rates, its EASY for them. Its all about skill when running predator, good predators do insanely well. Only challenge is when faced with an excellent premade, that happens very, very rare.

Good fireteams have insane win rates too.

Dude you are literally a broken record without a B side

And that is the point, if you’re good, you win a ton. I think the game is very well balanced.
