When you put it that way it does make sense up until certain formulas they (disney) seem to implement in thier movies as of late, which never work out in thier favor at least so far, but they contnue to do it. I dont mean strictly the “woke” formula but just poor decisions that they should have learned from, but persist to do it anyway. I feel like there is a pattern and we may disagree on that and thats fine but, disneys movies werent always what they are now(meaning most stuff they put out suck) and if you grew up from the late 80s til now than im sure you can agree “summer blockbusters” was a term used because of how much seemingly good and hindsight are good and hold up still. Recently it was mentioned that now that term as gone away because of the stats of how poor movies, shows, etc. do now it was a new piece on the topic.
Now that disney has monopolized a bunch of IPs thier same formulas used in thier movies that. It just basically seems like flops werent as prevalent as now a days. Sure theres the variables to take into account like someones taste in movies, actors, directors, producers, executive meddling, culture from then til now, writing, quotas, and combinations of all the above and more, but generally speaking things werent always like how it is now both with quality of a product and ppl who voice opinions on those products and when you scale out theres a majority and a minority. Cus putting it like how you did, i get it and can agree but like i said theres inconsistencies and patterns (that we may not agree on) where i have to start questioning.
I appreciate art in many forms, but when its art that is being sold to me its different vs art like for example if i go to an art gallery im going lookin or observing it an appreciating it, but if its art being sold to me and tryin to sell me on something i then have to think am I getting a good product or not. Maybe too deep to go in on something like predator but im a lil high literally waiting to go see it so yea…
