Predators need Tweaking

So I love to play as the Predator, it has issues, but overall its fun. However, I do want to ask a question to everyone about the Impenetrable perk. Doesn’t it feel useless? I run the perk which cost 5 points and it feels like it does nothing at all. I still get absolutely destroyed by the FT. I normally use the Net to trap the FT member and run up and slash them, but if they escape I’m in trouble because the FT is packing serious heat and even one member alone can be a threat. It’s ridiculous.

Now buffing the perk would be nice, or if the Predator had more health, but they both cause issues imo. I don’t want the perk buffed to be too good that everybody will feel like its a crutch that is needed to have a decent Predator experience. On the other hand having more health doesn’t fix the fact that the FT has a lot of firepower that feels like it is flirting with the line of being overpowered. the LMG is the most notorious candidate for being overpowered.

Now back on topic, something I’d like to see is Illfonic do is rework predator. Its amazing we can customize the Predator but id like to see different variants. They all feel the same if we can customize their loadout. If they use a Friday the 13th approach, every Predator could have a set weapon and perk loadout that cater to different play styles. We can still customize the look but it would be nice to make this change so that predators feel different from one another and that they all have different quirks and drawbacks. It can also give longevity to the game because we could run a “main” Predator but when we are feeling like trying something new their is different predator to scratch that itch.

Lastly, healing. Good god it takes forever. With the FT having the ability to melt the Predator’s health I believe the Predator should carry one more Healing kit and the time to heal should be shorter. You never know if the FT is chasing you down to murder you before you have the chance to finish healing but its ridiculous how the Predator needs to remove himself from the fight to heal for a set amount of time, and if the FT chooses to chase the Predator, we are defenseless.

bottom line, Buff Predator.

I mean tbh the game needs a full rework, not just buffs/nerfs. This isnt a numbers issue in most cases. Its serious gameplay design flaws holding the game back.

@Lazycollinator I see that argument but I disagree. The base game buggy and problematic as it is, is still fun. I can’t see reworking the game itself as a resolve because I think they overall got a good base. Many, including myself, are sinking hours into this game as bugged as it is. I like it how it is but you might have a point if its reworked the right way.

I havent had an issue with impenetrable.

I dont like the idea of locking weapons to predators.

Healing in second wind could use a bit of a boost.

Problem is if you buff the pred anymore you’re going to have them dominate PS teams. PC players are very few and more are leaving…

Basically. More stealth, more tactics, bigger maps. Etc.

I think we need to be realistic here. This game is not going to get any rework. If we get another map and a new game mode (as they said) its about all we can expect… Aside for paid DLC of some skins.

I waited 30 min on avg to get 2 pc players and 2 ps players and they melt me off with snipers and i at the end win but the win feels like shit…

Literally i felt anxious and my heart was racing in a bad way

Lets be realistic. That is our fate not because the devs cant do it. But because the community is so dead set at raining money on them like a stripper for things like city hunter that they realistically dont even need to try.

well my reason is because in the movies the predators all had their personalities. Wolf for example with a whip and shirkens. It be nice to see these predators play differently by having locked weapons and abilities.

Dont get me wrong the devs are abusing this just as much. But we are enabling it super hard.

As far as Impenetrable goes, a couple of guys I play with swear by it. @Drakos and @KameofWar are probably the most reliable sources for judging it’s merit. I remember playing as Pred in Private Match, and I engaged the FT and was taking damage and remember Kameo saying “Yup, he’s running Impenetrable because he should be Second Winded” so it’s clearly noticeable in the benefits it gives a Predator. Those guys, and @Fire I trust when it comes to Pred stuff so if they say it’s worth the 5 points then it’s definitely worth having 👍🏼
