Revisiting PC low graphics Aug 2021

Sure. Because counter strike is a weird corner peaking shooter. I can’t even watch the gameplay. There’s very little relation to real physics with that game. Every tiny reaction speed advantage makes a difference. In most other games, it won’t make a significant difference.

We perceive every day life in a fluid motion, unlike how screens display images in fps. 60fps is more fluid than 30fps, same as 120fps is more fluid than 60fps. The higher the fps, the more ā€œlife-likeā€ of an experience you’ll get. Whether that impacts you’re game performance or not, there is no denying that the more fps the more fluidity you’ll perceive.

And for some gamers, fluidity matters more than image quality.

WHERE DOES IT END??!!

It never ends

Perpetual neurosis

You poor fool

😜

It ends when the lights go out

That’s what I’ve been trying to explain to BadBlood about CS.
Some games profit from high fps and you can notice the difference in smoothness, in some other games, the difference is small.

Usually it’s good to have high fps in fast paced games, but if you’re gonna play games like Football Manager, it doesn’t matter if you have 60 or 200 fps on 60Hz monitor.

well thank you captain obvious… Never crossed my mind that changing graphics settings will actually make a visual difference… how stupid of me… *<:o)

I used to play with a pc player and when I brought up the graphics issue he just laughed , he said himself and close friends dont have good pc/laptops and they played it on average or above graphics šŸ¤”

I’ve acknowledge there’s a difference

It’s just negligible at best

Negligible for you bro. Not everyone is the same.
If we were, all of us would run the same setups and played at 60 fps or whatever works.

You just explained why they play on average or above average settings, because their pcs are crap so it doesn’t matter to them because more than likely they have shit monitors as well.

Even the human eye is limited in this respect.

Scientific studies support a definitive improvement in our perception from 30 FPS to 60, but more than 60 FPS is inconclusive. Most people probably plateau at around 90 FPS and 200 FPS is nearly indistinguishable from real life.

curious (genuinely, not looking to start another fight)
What CPU/GPU/RES/HZ you have and what is the max fps you get?
Also, do you get constant FPS or does it drop like crazy during certain scenarios?

I’m considering upgrading to a 3070Ti when they drop in price, but if that ain’t gonna give me constant 144 fps at 1440P using cinematic settings, I’ll probably won’t upgrade because all my other games run like butter except for PHG

It’s like asking why do you need a Lamborghini to drive to work if its gonna take you the same time to get there as the person driving a Camry?

Bro I can tell you right away you can clearly see the difference between 60fps and 144fps

Is as noticeable as going from 30 to 60. But when you are used to 60, is hard to tell. After a few months playing at 144, going down to 60 feels like… ugh. You can see the choppines and stuttering that you once saw as butter smooth

That article you’ve read also explains the differences in experience you’ll get when playing at high fps as I stated before.

And you see how you brought up a number, let’s assume 200fps is the limit. So we can agree that there is a difference between 60hz monitor and 144hz monitor. I would go as far as saying that 240hz would probably be the max, anything above that is probably indistinguishable by most people.

I don’t think it will.

I had 3060 Ti overclocked with Ryzen 5600x, 3600MHz 16GB, most settings on high, some settings were on cinematic, fps unlocked, 1080p 60Hz.

I could see random drops from 340+ fps to 140 fps on random parts of the map, especially on Excavation.

I doubt that you’ll have constant 144 fps on your res with everything on cinematic. This game is just poorly optimized.
