Bale was not better written, the only saving grace in those movies was Leager. Thats it. First one used a Sidekick Villian as a Major Villain and then used a major villain as a 2 min fight scene. Yawn.

Honestly DC needs to stop making Live action movies. Id rather watch 10 hours of paint drying then to sit through another DC live action movie. They should honestly just quit.
This Batman had its moments like the orphan stare down, and the stupid stalkerest vibes. But With that being said it shows that Batman is more than just his money.
Also if we are on the topic of Batman using Bruce as his mask. The JL bat, The cartoon bat, and that Bat with the Joker that was like a wild animal and was barefoot, we’re rarely Bruce focusing more on being the bat and allowing his company to run its self and being the recluse billionaire.

In the 1st Keaton movies, there had been Batman sightings for a few months in Gotham. Idk where you’re getting 10 yrs, it’s not in the movie.
Batman Begins was better written all around and while I’m not crazy about Bruce training under R’as AL Ghoul, both villain actors did a good job. I just wish they would’ve done more with R’as and the Lazarus pits etc in TDKR.

I’d have to actually check if TDK had more Bruce than Batman. Begins did because he was still becoming Bats. TDKR, well, it wasn’t great, but yes it did. That was annoying, but I’d still take that one over this pile of poo. Batman can fight whenever if needed, he’s not a vampire who’s gonna burn up in sunlight. Desperate times and all that. And the lighting innThe Batman was way too dark. Just a little more would’ve been better.
I think DC needs to retire some characters for a while, let Shazam run its course, maybe make a Dr Fate and a proper Constantine. Fix Green Lantern, ffs.
The opening of the film was ok, the subway brawl, but that was it for me.
And why is Nirvana in the movie at all? Totally took me out of it right away. Shit choice of a shit band in a shit movie. Real-world songs shouldn’t lead a movie like this. They’re best sprinkled in here and there if they have to be there at all.
Of course Bats is more than cash, but he uses that to get his gear and stuff together without, you know, stalling his car the first time he uses it… like maybe he’d have tested it, or better yet, LUCIUS FOX might have helped, hmmmmmmm?

I’ve decided to give The Batman another watch, to see if perhaps I was overly critical of it. I will also watch TDK and Bats 89 in that order and make a final judgement call on this latest Bats adventure.

I’ll watched it again when it comes on HBO max, I watched it a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty good, especially the opening. I do understand some of the complaints I’ve heard about it tho, but don’t see how people can think it’s utterly terrible. Usually I see more the second time I watch soemthing so I’ll probably see more of what y’all are talking about
I’m in the same place, yet on the other side. What made me want to do it was I recently got my wife to watch Shazam (after I suffered through Harry Potter) and I don’t like it as much as I did the first time. I think when I saw it first, I was so burned out from crap like justice league and suicide squad anything looked better. I gotta give it some more thought.
Gonna put my 2 sense in here and say dark knight is still the best Batman movie yet.

Matt Reeves is one of those Nirvana fans… you know what I mean. So much so that his love for Nirvana is what led him to cast Robert Pattinson in the first place. He did a movie called Good Time where he had dyed blonde hair and Reeves is quoted as saying he loved how he looked just like Kurt Cobain and knew he’d be a great Bruce Wayne.
