Wow those communication skills

Know what let’s keep going

The word your looking for is RESPECT

You want us to RESPECT the Predator

And the soldiers in 87 were in fact scared. At least some of them were so by your own example you meant scared.

You don’t fear an equal. You respect an equal. (Equal in this case would be under 1V4 balancing)

And that’s not atmosphere either.

Somewhere your communicating badly because on one side I have atmosphere and horror

And on the other side I have respecting the Predator.

Which is it?

I’m not reading all that boss you keep saying the same things over and over and not giving any coherent reasons as to why more balance and a more dangerous predator would not help the atmosphere of the game. I genuinely just think you aren’t sure what you even want out of the game and are just arguing for the sake of it

Read that final bit. Are you so dull you can’t grasp that making the predator more lethal would also in turn make you fear him more? Lol like how are you confused here

Okay, there is no way to accurately measure toxicity levels in a game in order to compare it with another game.
I do firmly believe that DbD is extremely toxic. If you don’t - that’s your right. I can’t prove to you my point since there is no metric that would server as sufficient evidence.
These two videos tackle (or rather attempt to) the issue of toxicity on a systematic level. I would not call these anecdotal (maybe the second one, but not Coconut’s).

In my own, anecdotal lol, experiences. Yes. Lots of toxic players. But also lots of good ones. Like other games

mass-effect-tali (2)

So do you. Not every point is a one time use.

I’m sorry what?

And I genuinely think you don’t know basic game design language.

Would that really help?

Are we talking horror or respect?

I can’t tell anymore because your OP post talks about soldiers being afraid, literally afraid, but then you say you don’t literally mean afraid so how can I tell anymore.

Already said.

Not even in this post just in general.

Then I can’t help you. Cause I have people messaging me on the side also with 0 clue how you’re confused haha this is just a you problem. I’ve explained. You need to be afraid in the way that you would be afraid of an enemy in any other game. Not like jump scares. Afraid to be caught out alone and die. As to add suspense. This, is basic stuff lol

Like, the suspense of the film. Is all but gone. You are less afraid of the predator in this game then a single other squad in Apex. You don’t even feel like you really need to address his presence half the time. That’s not good.

Probably because theres only like 2 buttons required to play it so everyone thinks they’re a god at whats just hide and seek tag.
And all the uninteractive mechanics make people salty and so they want to dictate how people play.

people’s sunken cost grinding in that game is the only thing keeping it afloat, hit people and watch numbers go up. hit skillcheck and watch numbers go up. look at me im rank 1 at running in circles.

I think its the lack of meaningful damage and multiple lives.

The only way to make people play like it’s intense and matters is if you set it up like Hunt:Showdown where characters can potentially get really OP compared to everyone else but you lose that character if he dies.

I told you

Your bad at communicating

You used an example that meant genuine fear, and then told me you don’t actually mean afraid.

That’s you communicating badly.

That’s not fear that’s respect.

I’ve said that multiple times.

I’m not afraid if a Jager

I’m not afraid of a nurse

I’m not afraid of a collector

But I do respect their strength

Again that’s not fear

THATS RESPECT

Also just to add to my point

Again you use an example that meant literal fear, not what your talking about.

You only have yourself to blame.

Oh Gosh 🙄

Shadow of Wars good

You’re lost in the sauce of wanting to be right lol

And the reason I say that is not even to say I’m right. I’m just saying it’s in my OPINION having the predator be more intimidating, would add suspense to the game. You are trying to use examples to tell me this is not true, when really this is just your opinion vs mine. Atleast with mine I’m giving examples of how this would work

No.

Your just really bad at communicating, painting what you want as something completely different than what you mean.

Again

What did you think was going to happen when you use examples of people being GENUINELY AFRAID

how does genuinely being Afraid equate to not literally being afraid

Seriously please tell me what you were thinking.

We can agree that the predator needs a buff

We can agree that the predator isn’t respected and should be

Oh it’s just your opinion alright

That one in particular. If we’re talking opinion, how do I not know my opinion?

Unless it was an objective statement

Either that or you swapped the conversation over to balance for some reason even though that has no Importance to the conversation, more specifically whether or not your idea would be a buff to the Predator which doesn’t make sense because my argument was that it wouldn’t make it scary. Not that it wouldn’t buff it.

Also this

You point out that the game is bad, then immediately bring up how the game feels, i.e the atmosphere etc.

Now yes you do say feelings are subjective but that doesn’t matter. There are key things you can do to make certain emotions using objective executions.

For instance in paintings a horizontal line will draw the eye across the painting, while horizontal lines will stop the eye.

That’s why we can make sad music, or scary music, or action music, or just action in general.

After all if there isn’t a way to objectify the delivery of emotions why isn’t there a decent chunk of people who get pumped up from seeing their favorite character die?

There are objective elements you can use to create subjective feelings in people.

So ya you started this entire post with an objective statement, using an example of actual fear

Not a subjective statement, with an example of respecting the Predator.

You know I’m over here making an objective statements, wouldn’t objective statements of game design trump subjective opinion?

After all this is the direction the game goes in, we objectify that, so why not objectify that?

“Your trying to use examples”

“But at least I give examples”

What?

You keep taking stuff out of context and putting it together to try and make me look dumb. Relax there chief. Again. You think, making the predator more dangerous wont in turn make him more of a threat. I’d love to know how that makes any sense in your head. You think back when he was just 1 shotting everyone with the PC that was healthy, but can’t understand why we want a middle ground where instead of 1 ultra powerful tool. We want all his tools to just be viable. To add some, I don’t know, variety and interest to playing the predator? It’s already nothing but pc and if we reverted that change, it would be even MORE so. You aren’t using even shreds of logic. And again I’m communicating just fine you’re trying to like, pry everything I say apart by taking things out of context and altering the meaning of what I’m saying in some weird attempt to be right. Stop it lol

Really what this comes down to, is my point was, the game was a miss. And what I think would have fixed it. And you went WEll HoLD Up there MISTEr! Then tried explaining how it’s just an action game. Ok cool, what’s that have to do with it being bad? Like the numbers have vastly depleted. That’s a number. That’s objective. And my subjective feeling toward this, is the reason is didint do very well, was it’s a game based on a franchise, that feels nothing like the franchise. Alien isolation is a great game that is very much in the same wheelhouse of the films. This movie is not even in the same ball park and i believe that’s why it has not done well. If you disagree, good for you. Have that opinion. Keep enjoying the alien blaster simulator that runs like a PS3 game

I have to like go back and read bits and pieces lol. Dude we’re done talking here you’re trying to mix what I’m saying so bad it’s cringe. In evolve you are GENUINELY AFRAID of the monster. Not meaning like screaming. DUH. Meaning you would not dare try and fight it alone. You’re tying HARD to mix my point and I ain’t having it lol. We can do an entire poll on whether or not you think the predator is scary, not “AH I HAVE TO TURN THE GAME OFF CAUSE OF JUMP SCARES” but oh shit I shouldn’t get caught alone cause I’ll get murdered. And STAHP with the “well that’s respect not fear”. No, it’s not. Sure you can respect him too. But it’s not respect keeping you out of 1v1 it’s fear of insta dying. Again. If you wanna use your semantics and say “well respect and fear blah blah” go right ahead but literally everyone knows what I’m saying you’re just trying to sound big brained and mix it. Lol STAHP
