totally agree bro!
Thoughts on the predator buff.
I GIVE UP PLAYING AS THE PREDATOR!
Ive been trying all day, but its no use. Fireteam players are getting better and better and they kill you so fast!
Too much firepower and medkits, they attack together, if i manage to kill 2 of them, they bring them back!. My God! The third person view is so confusing, he’s so weak, it takes a lot of wristblade strikes to down a man, and when you do, the others are fucking firing at you, them you retreat to heal, one of them revives the downed one and the others come after you.
We can’t separate the fireteam members, and we must pray they are total noobs so we can kill them. I’m feeling so frustated with this game.
The smart disc has short range, flies so slowly
the plasma caster is so weak and slow
The melee attacks whif all the time cuz we don’t have a lock button
The healing takes an eternity to complete
The predator gets stuck on the terrain several times
The weapon wheel only works after a complete stop
The net gun must be aimed precisely to work
All projectile based weapons require an absurd concentration and precision cuz they only release one unit and are so slowwww!!
The fireteam can fire form almost any distance, 4 players at once! they have bombs, shotguns, snipers, they can save each other, and even if someone dies, they can bring the Dead alive!! NOT EVEN GOD CAN DO THIS!
PLEASE! Save this game! The predator is a joke right now, a intruder in the gameplay, not the protagonist! not the deadly beast!
Please,
check 2010’s ALIENS VS PREDATOR from REBBELION and look at his gameplay!
Please , save this game illfonic!
They should definitely give predator at least five perk slots. Less time it takes to heal. Buff the bow so you can aim your charge shot and keep it drawn back too. No release unless you let go. Less time to charge up bow shot.
If fireteam can respawn, I think it’s safe to say that predator can go back to his ship and restock his equipment. Been plenty times I’ll claim all but one, and the guy calls back up. Everybody is revived and I’m out of meds for predator. Damn near all my arrows I gotta collect from the ground. Like damn… I used up all my meds for one guy to revive the whole damn team again 😤
I enjoy the buffs you suggest, I’d like to see them especially on the scout, my sentiments were exact.
it is revolting this unbalance!
There should always be a state of fear present for the Fireteam, they’re being hunted. I’m not scared playing as the Fireteam because if I stick with my team I most likely gonna live, that why there should be elements that split the team up into two’s. The predator can take on one person easy, two adds a good level of challenge for him and tension for the Fireteam. This way it is leaning towards more of a 50/50 chance to which team wins.
I believe that the berserker does not need to be nerfed, but it would be nice to slightly rebalance it
to make it heavier and not agile in return for even greater impact force, so that the player in this class literally felt his weight and could not always cope with his nature.
This is the reason why I’m not talking about raising stats exclusively, such as damage or survivability, look, I still need skill to implement my ideas, I’m talking about the possibilities to split a team, so that you have such a toolkit.
Well I can say for a fact that al the ft has to do is parry and knife to take out a berserker it has happened to me personally and the parry spam makes pred melee attacks completely useless
Hehei! It’s time to like this post so that it crawls higher! The more active the discussion here, the greater the chance that one of the developers or the community manager will look here!
Any thoughts on HOW to do this? I mean, besides the frantic twisting of stats.
Ur ideas r genius and I have no idea how and entire game development company didn’t think of those.
I personally think of a berserker as a class from which you can only run along the shortest path, it would run slower than you on the ground and catch up only on trees.
I will explain to you why: This is generally a problem that many not-so-experienced game designers face. When you consider the balance for the game, you think about whether this or that move from the player will be “honest”, whether this particular move will fit into the term “One very strong side has 1 very weak side or 2 just weak sides.”, BUT almost never a gamedisaner puts himself in the place of a PLAYER in such a situation. I call this method of building a game the Riot approach, many of the heroes’ motions look like they’re broken, they almost take you, sometimes you don’t even have enough time to react BUT … this works cool because it requires skill from the player. You don’t think, “Oh, that shit dishonestly killed me!” You think, “Wow, that … that was cool.” Well, or you combine both of these thoughts. I want to say that it is NORMAL when a predator in skillful hands feels a little broken, not normal when even a team below the average does not have any difficulties with it.
I think the honest census is we all want this game to succeed. Taking on the 4 man fire team when they stay a 4 man fire team without splitting up is a bear. Perhaps making the AI more of a threat, taking longer to do the computer work so the team is down a man while one is “completing” the objective points?
Trust me, I want balance in both sides. I’ve been obliterated as the predator and felt unrewarding trying to toy with my prey, whittle from the trees, maybe getting one kill just to see them respawn.
Maybe adding expensive costing skills/talents. Headshot kills, pounce from tree kill, rope trap to hang them from a tree branch?
They gave us taunts that don’t really taunt. Saying help me, when the team can see on their mini map that no one is down doesn’t make a lot of sense. The roar is fun just because it sounds cool, but the others are… underwhelming.
Thoughts?
I had the thought of splitting the team using sounds, but it is awkward and difficult to implement. It would work something like this: An insulating impulse temporarily cut off the HUD of the squad players. That is, they would lose each other’s signatures and stop seeing each other on the map and through the walls. with a successful capture of the moment, this could greatly ruin the life of the detachment even if they play with communication.
Which is why I’m sure Illfonic isn’t going to do anything drastic. They’ll look at the data and act accordingly, they’re not going to go off of these forums for any kind of serious balance changes, nor should they. I think using the forum for ideas to tweak mission structure and the like is one thing, but serious balance changes? Nah. Iv seen the game change over the course of this weekend. Went from very few Predator wins on Thursday and Friday to very few fire team wins by Sunday eve. I think slight changes still may be needed, tweaks to some of the sounds Predator makes and maybe tweaks to the spotting system, but I’m not sure much more than that needs to be done at this moment. I’d wager about 90% of users having trouble winning as the Predator comes down to skill and experience not because the game is unbalanced.
Use the net gun, that stops any parry spam in its tracks. Also change your attack cadence, throws them off. Jump behind them if you have to. It’s not hard to counter people who are skilled with the parry. The problems most run in to when it comes to someone skilled with the parry is they’re trying to take that person down while he has multiple teammates near him. That’s really all parry is good for, just buys you a bit more time so ur teammates can down the beast before he ganks you, because without teammates, you’re getting ganked.
Not if the fireteam members are close can instantly cut the net and most fireteams I go against stay close together
I agree with everything you said. The classes should reflect in how you play with the Predator. Besides, I think the Predator should be hard to kill, as Jason in Friday 13th. For example, when players nock down the Predator for the 3rd time, he won’t be dead, but his helmet fall down as the plasma cannon. The Predator enters a “rage mode”, with half life and no thermal vision, but he can tracks the players immediatly. The players, on the other hand, can take the plasma cannon to nock down the Predator for good and finally kill him.
I mean, doesn´t need to be exactly like this, but some similar mechanic to injet more adrenalin in killing the ultimate assassin of the Galaxy.
