No, the question is why would the predator use a shoulder cannon and not a pistol. Shoulders cannon are far less useful.

Or their own pistol. You see, the weapons that they have and do work is the ones that are based on real life human weapons. Why? Because real life human weapons are those that are actually practical. The shoulder cannon would expose youāre entire body just to shoot it and has those insane visible laser sights for no good reason.

Perhaps the sights are for us to see in the movie. Element of fear after we see it the first time. In the first movie, even with all the weakenss you point out, the Yautja was very successful as a hunter. He got a bit cocky twice, exposing sing himself to Mac (injured) and in the end (hand to hand combat that got him killed).

The pistol is just as powerful but its also practical. The only advantage shoulder cannon has is that it locks on but considering how long it takes, the laser sight, how much you expose your bodyā¦ I mean, even in the movie wolf decided to make that SC into a pistol.
Of course they are successful. They are stronger and faster then humans, leap like all hell and they have cloak. He could tear humans apart with his bare hands. The thing is, give him a full body armor as he should have and not just pieces or armor here and there and give him a pistol instead of a SC and he would be far more efficient. It makes no sense for him to use cloak so they canāt see him but then reveal his position with the laser.
Well the PC is standard loadout for youngbloods.
and in the movies I think all the preds except for the last two movies were youngbloods so they didnāt have much choice in their weapons if any choice

Maybe he wanted to make things interesting a bit. He doss reveal himself a few times. He jumps, but still uses hands for climbing. Maybe he wants to have his hands free (first movie)
None of that is accurate, an English long bow will punch a hole in one side of the plate armour and out the other. Chain is to protect against slashes not stabs and an arrow will go through Kevlar like butter.
Not trying to be a dick but bows and arrows are actually very effective weapons, the problem is they are skill based and slow.
PC is being used by pretty much all preds, even Wolf uses them until he makes a pistol out of 2 PC. Besides, yautja would not use inferior tech, it would make little sense. I mean, how many preds would trade the bow for a sniper rifle? Imagine a predator would a sniper rifle manā¦ And this is tech from our age.
The OG bad blood pred only uses makeshift spears and an elder sword

The less powerful bows I donāt see them going even trough PROPER mail.
That isnāt an English long bow, they have 150 pound pull.
PS. I never said ever arrow, they wore armour for a reason. 200 French knight in full plate lost to 80 or so archers. 6 arrows a minute is slow but also terrifying.
So you did not even watch the video? Not only where you wrong about what you said before but you did not even watch the video where its disproven what you said. That bow is 160 pounds, the guy explains why he is not using a 200 pounds bow even if he can use it and the bow he is using is compared to what was used at the battle of Agincourt.
They even use our age arrows heads and they still donāt pierce the armor. Even from really close range (Well close for a longbow).
